Since a lot of the lights are missing or not working, it would be game breaking to fly at night. The date is hard coded to ensure you don’t get a mission at nighttime. It’s summer in the northern latitudes so you can fly missions really far north with lots of daylight. I couldn’t find any missions in Antarctica, or any latitude far enough south where this would be an issue.
I’m not sure what timezone the EFB is using, but I believe the PFD UTC time is correct for where it’s putting the sun. Your mission time is also hard coded to a limited subset of times to also ensure it’s daytime in the mission.
The weather is from a different time. It’s either Live or Historical from the last 24-hours, or a preset depending on the mission type.
