This game is completely broken. Every time I land in career mode, the 50kt crosswinds knock me right off the runway. It’s ridiculous after spending hours in the air only to end it like this. What a joke this game is and the developers couldn’t care less. These are not hard fixes!

• Just accepted a medium cargo mission in Finland. Mission description gave me VFR for arrival in EFME. METAR for arrival time looks like this (EFSI is the nearest airport with METAR to EFME):
METAR EFSI 070950Z AUTO 08010KT 040V120 1200 R14/1700U SN OVC013 M06/M07 Q0994=
Weather in EFB was not available, but on arrival I got 25kn headwind and 40kn!!! crosswind 2000ft AGL with low hanging cloud ceiling (the clouds seem consistent with METAR, but wind and QNH do not). Clearly I did NOT land under that conditions (I once landed a C172 with 25-30kn crosswind, that was not my definition for “fun”…)

Thanks, will have to try that. At least all the attempts so far have helped me get more used to using the autopilot and VOR approaches.
ISSUE DESCRIPTION
Description of the issue:
I can’t adjust the weather, wind, turbulence in career mode. I can’t adjust the turbulence strength in settings. The turbulence is strong in every mission, I can’t fly. It throws the plane back and forth, it’s unplayable.
[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
YES
FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
every time

Yust allow us to change turbulence level in Career, like in Free Flight.
Same for weather in general, why only Live or nothing, and not same options as in Free flight.
It is lready difficult enough to find viable flights in career, without worrying about weather on top of everythig else.
Still has not changed. No matter where I fly in career mode, im getting 30-50kt winds as soon as I take off to my cruise alt. This is absoluty dumb.
I agree, tried taking off from tampa and my C208B ran from one side to the other side without any movement on my rudders…LOL!!
Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• Yes, have same issue. Flying the Edgley Optica with nothing in community folder.
Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• The turbulence happens right after takeoff every time, then randomly throughout the flight. I have turbulence set to low in the settings AND the wind/gusts down to as low as possible on the weather.

This worked thank you!
For those still experiencing this issue with insane windy weather, turn off live weather in the settings before you start the mission or if you are currently in an active mission you can turn it off and restart it. I went from 35-40knt winds to 0-3knts
turning off Live Weather works, and usually results in a fairly steady 2 knot wind, but after using it for quite a while i’ve noticed that sometimes you still get a 5 knot wind gusting up to 15 knots and constantly varying in direction by up to 20 degrees, which is pretty irritating (and frankly somewhat impossible IRL with clear skies/no convection systems nearby).
Yeah, I’ve noticed the same results. But at least it makes landings more bearable/possible to do now with GA.

• Despite earning an Instrument Certification and therefore real-world weather should be applied, I faced 28 knot winds at the destination (YWBN - Wedderburn Australia) when the reported wind in the real world area was 4 to 6 knots depending on the reporting station. I should note that the destination airport apparently does not report METARs so the surrounding stations were checked using windy.com. Could a possible contributing factor be the game just randomly generates a value if the arrival airport doesn’t publicize a METAR report?
I noticed in last feedback snapshot this topic was marked as FIXED in patch 3.
do we need another bug report for further investigation? as clearly there are still issues !
or has this bug been ‘re-opened’?
in particular
- Im still getting thrown around like a paper airplane - the turbulence is still way too high.
- many (small) airfields do not have any weather data or its completely inaccurate.
either metar or on the runway page. making flight planning impossible. - the overall conditions eg. VFR/IFR landing on mission screen is often incorrect.
the last one meant yesterday, I picked up a mission that said VFR landing.
when I got there, there was zero visibility, into a runway with no ILS or RNAV and no lights.
I had no choice but to abort.
so, I wasted over an hour on that flight, and that was using sim rate (3-4x!) for much of the flight
what should have happened … and we need now.
a) metar/runway weather information needs to be ‘implied’ from the closest airport.
b) close airports in conditions that require ILS but they don’t have it, and redirect us.
in my case, there was a major airport very close, so no excuse for the airfield to not have accurate weather, and would have been trivial for me to redirect.
AAAAAAANNNNND just flew a career flight where I had winds gusting from 20’s into the 40’s MULTIPLE TIMES PER SECOND.
Winds do NOT behave like this Microsoft.
if i’d bookmarked every time a real-life airline pilot commented on how unrealistic the continuous microgusting is in MSFS during a livestream i’d have a very long list of Youtube videos to post to this stream.
well, here’s one example anyway. an ex-a320 pilot, now b787 pilot comments on the “medium” turbulence setting.
a third, more substantial update, is expected next week. Patch 3 will address a range of critical issues, including:
- Career mode bugs: A number of issues, including incorrect wind and turbulence behavior, are being fixed.
Found my problem! I wasn’t aware that MSFS2024 by default assigned rudders to my joystick which it seems was interfering with my rudder pedals. I removed the assignment on my joystick and BAM! No more crazy swings like extreme turbulence!!
