Windows 11 24H2 and MSFS: observations, insights, issues and tips

@DrewmorKuZy i have tried various recent Nvidia drivers and found them extremely unstable, leading me to roll back to 566.36 to avoid black screens, blue screens, you name it – not just in MSFS but in games of all kinds. this instability has been widely reported elsewhere, as you probably know. also, i’m on 24H2, with KB5058499.

I just wanna go back to Windows 7 and relax, seriously, Win11 and nvidia drivers giving me anxiety. It is like they don’t care about gamers anymore.

Summary

We helped nvidia driver team for years on Guru3d, donanimhaber and more places with bug reports, fixes, workarounds since 2006. I never ever saw drivers this horrible for years. I wanna talk ManuelG@Nvidia(guru3d) about what is going on with drivers but he is the nicest person we know for years, i am so sure he is also so stressed. Don’t even try new so called Dolby Vision thing, it is a nightmare, not worth to risk.
Disabling Fast Startup helps a lot if you guys are on 23H2 and 24H2, i managed to fix my sound crackling issue with hdaudBus.sys by just disabling fast startup. Was spiking towards 600-900, now it is near at 9-20. LatencyMon and whoCrashed are amazing tools. I remember my LatencyMon results on Win7 was perfect, below 15 on all sections. I am getting stutters and fps drops again, i don’t know what to do at this point. Here is a bat file i was working to help some old friends if anyone wanna use, edit, fix etc (some steam version sections not finished, codes dont belongs to me). I will play some indie games and relax, i hope i don’t get any BSODs with them… Peace

edit: Fast Startup issue RTX 5070 Ti low performance fixed after disabling Fast Startup and full power cycle – watch out for stealth fallback mode

agreed. for years now i’ve habitually kept up to date with the latest Nvidia drivers and it’s always been a win:win situation. now though… what the hell is going on? is that you, Copilot, hallucinating their new drivers? because honestly.

those Resplendance tools looks super useful. thanks. however, the Mediafire link is stuck in a loop generating a new download key.
