Windows 11 lcds or pc wont sleep with any yoke or pedal connected, disconnect works, seems linked to 4090 and newer display drivers?

I had this setup with the 3080ti working just fine with win 11.. i could keep the yoke/pedals connected and the screen would shut off.

So i swap to the 4090, run DDU and the latest driver (which a month ago was a few versions back too).. it seems if you do not reboot after reinstalling the driver after having done DDU in safe mode, then boot normal, then run the nvidia driver installer.. at the end before rebooting the screen WILL timeout as expected.

If a restart occurs its back to staying awake.

I also tested this on the same pc but a clean win11 install, same issue, so i know its not the OS. I took the yoke and plugged into my other win11 box with the latest nvidia driver (and a 3080ti there), same issue, i havent tried reverting to the older nvidia driver yet on that machine and i dont think the older one will work on my 4090.

So has anyone ran into this? I have tried two different yokes, both the same result too.

I don’t have GeForce experience installed

I have a totally different setup and whenever my yolk is plugged in, my computer never goes to sleep. Been like that since I got the yolk years ago

Had this issue some time ago. Make sure in-game overlay is disabled in your GeForce Experience

Thx, unfortunately I don’t even have it installed

Ya I bought a switchable USB hub like this

That way I can turn my flight hardware off that seems to have solved it.

I suggest (unless you require usb power when system is off), to go into your bios and turn the usb always on to off (when system is off)

It happens in Win 10 too, started some months ago after a windows update without any change of hardware. Tried every solution suggested on the web with no luck. Switchable USB as mentioned before or disconnecting the hardware seems to be the only solution, at least with some hardware, I have a VKB Gladiator NXT.
