Hello LeftosGIAA,
It seems from the above that you know how to get the Winwing Ursa Minor to work in MSFS (I am using 2020).
But it’s a mystery to me. There is no clear documentation that I can find anywhere. I have plugged my stick into the PC, run SimAppPro , it sees the stick and I calibrated it. But I have no idea where to go from there. Even though I did all that, if I start the game and spawn a plane, the joystick movements have no effect. If I go to Options > Controllers (in the game), the stick is recognized, but the capabilty to bind kyes etc to functions is not offered. In SimAppPro I go to the Key Binding tab. The stick appears and so does MSFS 2020, but when I select them and click “Create from Game”, it says “WARNING! CAN NOT FIND BINDING FILE INFO FROM THE GAME CONFIG FOLDER. 1. Set and save the current device’s key information in the game. 2. Please check in SIMAPP PRO SETTING of the game config folder.”
I can guess what that means but I am by no means sure. I went to Settings in SimAppPro and under MSFS 2020 Configuration > MSFS2020 Steam, for User Data Path I selected “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata”, for Aircraft Model Path - “C:\Users\m_g_g\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Official\Steam” and for Third-Party Aircraft model Path, “C:\Users\m_g_g\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Community”.
But that does not appear to help.
I have downloaded the WinWing default key binding file and when I try to run it, I get the same warning as above: “WARNING! CAN NOT FIND BINDING FILE INFO FROM THE GAME CONFIG FOLDER. 1. Set and save the current device’s key information in the game. 2. Please check in SIMAPP PRO SETTING of the game config folder.”
I have looked high and low for a proper, well-written, comprehensive procedure as to how to go about configuring this device, and - nothing! The odd “tutorials” that I have found do not address this issue.
I am at my wits’ end. Having dropped more than 130 bucks on this device, I am so frustrated I would just like to return it, but Amazon are not accepting returns.
Could you help me, please? You appear to have successfully configured your device. Could you write a detailed procedure? Do you know where one exists?
