I think it only becomes an issue if they are detected by photogrammetry techniques, then they become a horrible mess of objects with complex surfaces that suck up resources while simultaneously looking ugly. A prime example of this are overheard powerlines for trains. Take a look at parts of London for examples of how it can look at its very worst. If they were tidied up, fair enough, I think they are worth it in the context of the airport or other scenery as presented. But not if they look like the last level of Dark Souls.
