I took a few shots around Houston this morning with and without Photogrammetry to get a feel for the difference. A year ago the photogrammetry around Houston has pretty bad, but it seems to look a lot better now. Some spikiness still exists, but not as bad as before. It certainly looks a lot better on than turned off.
I go two snapshots of three different locations, once with photogrammetry turned off, and then with it turn on. See the snapshots below. The difference will be obvious.
Near the Astrodome:
On the east side of downtown:
Along the Houston Ship Channel:
One thing I find myself doing now that I didn’t do before is to be a little less observant while I fly. It’s easy to see the flaws if I look closely, but if I look less closely and use a bit of imagination, the scenery with Photogrammetry looks so much better than the cartoonish look without it, it’s worth being less judgmental, and accept the upgrade.
