You can try this. Please let us know if it worked. Thanks.

Settings->General->Camera->Horizontal Position

Set that to 90 and you’re good to go. Just remember to change it back to 50 when you want to go back to left seat/single seat.

I tried to reproduce based on your steps but could not get it to crash. Do you have any other mods in your community folder?

Hi, I had also CTD after departure, like many others. May it be related to ATC? I didn’t start conversation at all - just took off.
I have also your G1000 mod in community folder - might be the cause of ctd’s?
EDIT: after turning OFF traffic and multiplayer no CTD on the same route.
But I clicked something like arr data on INDEX page and FMC went black apart from scratch pad.

Amazing mod, thanks. Just one question. Vatsim ATC are asking me to squawk mode C. I assume this is when TA/RA is highlighted blue. I tried a couple of variations but they couldn’t see my altitude. Any advice would be great.

I think vpilot is not hooked in to the sim yet for mode c, so
you have to enable mode C in vpilot itself, along with ident. Not 100% sure, but I think that’s true across all MSFS planes right now. I read maybe a month ago in the vpilot forum that they’ll be addressing this sometime soon

Nope, it didn’t work.
Changing this value (+) only moves the position even more to the right. Decreasing this value (-) brings my seat right in the middle of the cockpit.
Btw. Doesn’t this value change every (all the aircraft’s) positions?

Thanks for your time

You just have to enable Mode C in vPilot (it’s next to the Connect button) separately from the TA/RA squawk in the FMC.

Is anyone having uncommanded turns while on AP? Otherwise, this has been the best experience I’ve had so far on FS2020.

Hi - flybywirea320, salty747, a few liveries and a couple of airports.
ps I had EGCC-EGPH high ALT IFR route preloaded from the MSFS world map - this seems to be related as it works fine 100% if no route preloaded.
FYI I tried again from cold and dark with no route preloaded from world map and entered the route as it would have been setup from world map (ULSAX POL etc etc to TARTN EGPH). This worked fine and was able to navigate around the FMC until I selected ARR DATA and it blacked out again. (hope this helps)

Great thanks

I wonder
If preloading the plan from MSFS is the X factor
Could it be related to discontinuities? Maybe it clashes with what MSFS wants to do with that flight plan? Just a wild thought.

I had this issue(uncommanded turns), but only from my first vector. Manually entered my plan. After I got onto the plan path all was good. No CTDs for me

This is what we’re thinking right now - if you could try just manually entering your plan, or importing from simbrief, I’d be interested if you get any CTDs in that scenario.

Thanks!
Chris

I will try it out again today.

Last night I removed all my addons and it was the same deal with CTD. So it’s definitely this package.

This is officially now my favorite light jet in FS2020 now. It’s pretty much my favorite plane, but I also love the TBM, Carenado’s M20R and C182T, and the Baron is starting to grow on me too.

I am brand spanking new to flying the CJ4, so my first CJ4 flight was the 0.8 WT version, and I absolutely loved it. I also used the video to follow along which I found extremely helpful. I also like the built in electronic checklist, but a paper one might be helpful, too, especially for those of us completely new to even the stock CJ4.

I didn’t have any CTD issues, in fact, I didn’t have any issues at ALL except it didn’t quite capture the ILS correctly and I had to hand fly it, but I cannot say with any certainty that wasn’t 100% user (that would be me) error.

At first I was having some issues dealing with the throttle, but I was treating it like it was a pure autothrottle, and it seems to be more of a hybrid, at least based on what I learned in my lone flight so far.

I’ll probably be doing 2, perhaps even 3 more today to see what else I might uncover, both in terms of bugs and also suggestions, and just noob questions.

Thank you guys so VERY much for your hard work, and for putting together the closest thing I’ve seen to a bonafide study level jet for MSFS available anywhere so far. (With the caveat that although I’ve downloaded it, I don’t even have a single flight under my belt in the FBW A320, though I did start it up and complete a pushback and taxi (to the wrong runway) once!)

I did land on fumes, but I probably sat on the ramp with the engines running for almost 2 hours going through all the initial procedures before I started moving

For what its worth
full authority digital engine (or electronics) control (FADEC ) is not auto throttle but in this instance there are 2 detents on the throttle slider in the aircraft
TAKE OFF and CLIMB. They will not adjust themselves after set. You must still monitor angle of attack and speed to not overspeed or stall. It is very helpful!

Completed EGFF to EGHQ. First time with no CTD. The difference is I didn’t use MSFS flight plan and created a new one using FMS. In all previous uses, the CTD was with an MSFS-generated flight plan, so I think that’s your culprit. I will do some more flying with both later tonight and let you know what I find.

I still can’t quite figure out FADEC and VNAV, but my focus was to just fly a nice ILS approach with autopilot and see if I can do it with no CTD. This was a success. If my next flight with MSFS-generated plan crashes, I will just have to NOT use MSFS to generate plans until this gets fixed and do it via FMS. It’s actually kind of fun and I have never done that before. Yay for learning. I will soon try to dig into FADEC and VNAV and see if I can make it work. I did watch the video on the release page, but it would be helpful to have a complete flight from start to finish to illustrate how it works. For now, I will just continue to tinker with it.

But great job, guys! This aircraft was so enjoyable prior to 0.8 and now is even moreso
I’d LOVE to be able to not have to manually do flight plans and use generated ones for time-saving purposes, but if that’s the workaround for now, it works for me. I guess my next several flights on the world tour will be using CJ4 exclusively.

I WILL figure out these systems.

You can setup a free simbrief account and plan your flights there and then load them into the FMC with one click
kinda the best of both worlds.

And on FADEC, it only controls Takeoff and Climb power - those are the only two detents. Other than that, the throttle is in your hands. It isn’t an autothrottle, it just gives you max power for TO/CLB and automatically keeps the engine within safe limits so you don’t have to closely monitor engine parameters.

As a reminder, here are the quick steps to importing simbrief plans:
Configuring the FMC for Simbrief import

· Use Simbrief to create a flight plan and generate an OFP

· Make note of your PILOT ID, which appears in the Optional Entries section of the flight planning (Dispatch Options) page

· Load up the aircraft (you can start at a gate, parking position, anywhere you like)

· On the FMC, press IDX to open the INDEX page and go to PAGE 2.

· Click to open MOD SET

· Enter your PILOT ID in the scratchpad (should be a 6-digit number)

· Press the L2 LSK button next to the ------ under SIMBRIEF PILOT ID header - this will turn green if it has been accepted - this is now stored in the simulator and will remain persistent even after simulator restarts (you can skip these initial steps for future imports)

· Press IDX to open the INDEX page and go to PAGE 2

· Click to open ROUTE MENU

· You should see FPLN RECALL highlighted with your PILOT ID under it in green

· Click FPLN RECALL and your flight plan should import; you will be returned to the FPLN PAGE and will be prompted to hit EXEC to finalize the new flight plan
