for some reason I can’t seem to get any cockpit panel with any textures… be it default or third party supposed to be compatible…
Time to learn how to manually program the FMC then!
Make sure you have the latest version? Also make sure you aren’t missing any base game content by going in the content manager and selecting all and seeing if there’s an update/download button at the bottom
I don’t get any CTDs as long as I don’t have a FP in MSFS map. Just the origin airport. If I build the FP in FMC, all is well. Otherwise there is a CTD. Problem is… you get no ATC this way. It becomes a VFR flight. Very annoying unfortunately.
I dont get any CTD, but I am not using the ingame flight planer.
But I have a different problem with FADEC. Since I am not proficient with the CJ4 yet, this could be a pilot error or some problem with the FADEC. In climb detend using FLC (240kts initial) to climb the FADEC will reduce the engine thrust even tho 240kts are stable which results in a stop of climb. The selected FL was not reach at all (climbing at FL130 while FL390 is selected), VNAV climb setup was 240kts/Ma .64 (if that is important to know?). Also in VS mode FADEC will reduce the engine thrust and after a couple of seconds, nearly a minute, increase thrust again.
Straight after the update I was also getting CTD’s after taking off using the CJ4 with the latest MOD.
I have now managed to complete four flights with no issue. On all four I used ATC loading the Flight plan
in to the world map from Simbrief and then loading the same flight plan from Simbrief in to the FMC.
For me the issue was, that since the launch of MSFS I have been using a custom overclock on my GPU and never previously had any CTD’s. I removed that custom overclock and used the manufactures overclock and for now I say touching wood! the CTD’s have stopped.
How do you step though flight plan legs? I have the ND set to ‘plan’ mode using the lower menu but can’t figure how to step though the legs. Tried ‘next’. No step function ala the 737 fms etc. Anyone know?
@Peteee70, As long as the MFD map is in Plan format, then to step through the waypoints you would use the MFD ADV page on the FMS. 3min 26 sec in this video has an example.
Set your lower MFD menu to PLAN, then use the TO, NEXT, and PREV in the FMS
Thanks!. Exactly what I needed.
How do you load the flight plan from Simbrief into the FMC? I am familiar with Boeing FMC which has Co Route. Don’t see where in the CJ4 FMC anything like that.
Check out othe interim SOP document linked from CJ4 docs page on GitHub.
@scanham
Route menu
Page 2/2 load from simbrief over your simbrief id.
It loads your latest prefilled simbrief flightplan without sid/star you have to insert via dep/arr key
Bye
P.S. you’ll find your simbrief id in simbrief page right column (not your simbrief username)
Thanks. That is very useful and bookmarked. I was able to import the Simbrief plan successfully.
Unfortunately, got a CTD about a quarter through the flight. Not sure if it is related to flightplan or what.
yes there is an issue with the CJ4 and the latest update from Asobo. Hope they find the culprit soon.
I have no problems with CTDs. Since I disabled AI traffic and other traffic, everything has been running completely smoothly for many flights. Also the CJ4 with the current MOD and the current update for the MSFS. And I also use a Simbrief flight plan for every flight without any problems via the download in the FMC.
You can also try it this way.
The problem exists when you use MSFS flight planner. Every flight I have tried with the flight plan from MSFS ends in a CTD. If I just start at the origin airport with no plan and create a new one in FMS, there won’t be a CTD.
Problem is, this gets you no ATC. I hope this gets sorted out, I really don’t need to use SimBrief or any of those other outside planners as the one that comes by default in MSFS is good enough for me at this point.
Ah ok. Now I understand the problem. Then I keep my fingers crossed that this will be fixed in a timely manner.
In any case, I find it advantageous that with a flight plan via FMS you can also really edit the routes (e.g. directs or short-term changes - e.g. weather-related - in the approach and departure procedures).
I’ve done several flights with the Working Title 0.83 mod and I always use the default flight planner, no crashes.
@scanham is about two weeks I load flightplans from simbrief via CDU and execute the flights without problems (but I say it in a low voice
).
