Walter, I follow your exact procedure daily without issue. The only thing I can imagine is if you’ve transposed your digits. Nothing else comes to mind. Mack
Just to make sure (and with apologies if I’m stating the obvious): when you say you are saving the flight plan in SimBrief, are you clicking “SAVE FLIGHT”? That will only save the flight plan for later use within SimBrief. To be able to import the flight plan in the CJ4, you should click “GENERATE OFP” instead, because only then will SimBrief actually compile the flight plan.
If you’re already doing that, then I am also at a loss. As @Dueller6 said, otherwise your procedure seems absolutely correct.
Hi and thanks for input
I had no transposed digits, however, I did really miss to hit GENERATE OFP in SimBrief.
Now the import works perfectly.
One more question regarding SimBriefs flightplans for CJ4.
Do you set the runways and/or STAR/SID information in the SimBrief flightplan or only later in the simulation in the FMC?
I usually set them manually to be more flexible in case the winds aren’t what I expected in the sim. Especially on longer flights, I enter the arrival data during cruise to allow for changing weather.
This way, you can also reuse your routes more easily.
I have a question as to importing SimBrief flight plans?
No problem getting the Simbrief flight plan into the CJ4 FMC. but now the ATC knows nothing about this flight plan?
If I import it to Microsoft simulator it works OK.
So do I have to import the flight plan into both MSF and CJ4 in order for both to work?
Or am I missing something?
I think there is a simple way to synchronise the simbrief flight plan with ATC.
If you go to IDX in the FMS and then to the second page (where you also import the simbrief plan), there is an option MOD SET on the left side (where you can also turn on ground power and other things.)
Under MOD SET you find on the right top the option FP SYNC. You only have to put that ON and your imported flight plans (simbrief or MSFS) should be recognized by ATC.
