Working Title Garmin G3000 Discussion Thread

Hello
Before the new version I could use the keybinding on the pfd to change the range of the map (via a button and Mobiflight wasm module), now it don’t work anymore (range + and range- is use for TCAS)
Is there a way to control via a button the rotary knob of the g3000 ?

I hav done this

I’ve downloaded this mod but can’t get the charts to work. It’s grayed out and I’m unable to select it. I have an active Navigraph account. Is there something I’m doing wrong. I’ve gone to Utilities but there’s no where there to set up the database that I see. Thanks

Works great for me. Look at Utilities- Setup-MapDatabase until a windows pops up where it says Navigraph. Click on it. It opens your Webbrowser with Navigraph login. Login. Then in MSFS it will show Link Account. Click on that. Wait a bit. And done. Now you can view the Jeppesen charts with the MFD Chart function. Really cool.

The only thing in Utilities on mine is Avionics Settings and if you click on that there’s nothing about Setup Map Database. Hmmmmm

I can get you a screenshot later. Meanwhile check if you have downloaded and installed the correct v6.0 version.

Yes I just downloaded it again. Is there another file I need to download for it to work? Just putting 0.6.0 in the community folder and it doesn’t work.

Get a screenshot of your downloads and your community folder. Otherwise it is just guess work.

Community Folder

Yep. You did not install it correctly. The subfolder of your current folder needs to be in your Community folder.

Well I tried to do that but it didn’t work, got to 94% and then started telling me file names were to long. I tried to fix this problem earlier today with no luck.

Delete everything else from your community folder. And follow the install instructions.

Can’t get it in my community folder, says some of the file names are to long. Oh well, we tried :frowning:

This thread may help - it’s a know issue if you installed the sim in the default folder with the MS Store version I think:

But there is a solution marked here - might help

Don’t give up!! The working title mod is totally worth the effort!!

I had this issue when I was beta testing with the MS store version of the sim.

I found that the solution was to download and install winRAR (it’s free). WinRAR manages to overcome the “file name too long” error when extracting the files.

Use winRAR to extract the mod zip file directly into the community folder. In other words, don’t use windows to extract the files once you’ve downloaded from git hub, use winRAR.

It will ask for a location to extract the subfolder of the mod into, so you can choose the community folder.

When you extract using windows, it’ll generally create a folder structure like this with the files:

  • MOD TITLE VERSION master folder
    - MOD TITLE subfolder
    - actual mod files

As a general rule, you always need to copy or drag the subfolder (in bold) of every mod download into the community folder, not the master folder that windows puts all the extracted files into from the zip. That’s what you have done in this case, the 0.6 folder is the master and you need to put the folder contained within that into the community folder.

Sorry you’re having to jump through all these hoops, the MS store version seems to throw all sorts of ridiculous unnecessary installation problems at people compared to the steam version!

I think your path to your community folder looks very long and strange… for me the Community folder is just one level up from were the game is installed. For example D:\Games\MicrosoftFlightSim\Community
Are you sure you are in the correct Community folder and are even some of your many other add-ons working correctly?

I’ve found that any working title mod is totally worth the effort. Somehow I missed this one and didn’t even realize it was out, but I’ve rectified that problem and am about to give 'er a test flight. Might even do my “VQPR Challenge” flight with it.

is there somebody who can tell me if traffic radar is working?
I cannot see any traffic on it…

The key here is whether you installed in the default folder when installing from MS Store or not. The default folder is buried in the C drive as above and this creates the long folder name issue, but it looks like you chose another drive location (as did i). Doing that has been a great decision and I would strongly recommend not installing in the default location to everyone if you can avoid it.
