After the latest hotfix of WU6 there is a problem with the G3000 mod. As soon as you switch on the TBM 930 battery switch the sim crashes. It doesn’t happen with an empty community folder and it does happen with the G3000 mod as the only mod in the community folder. Before this latest hotfix this problem did not occur. Hope the WT guys can find a way to fix this. The TBM 930 is unusable this way.
Try this.
1 - Delete de WT G3000 from the community folder.
2 - Start the sim and get yout plane on the rwy then leave the sim
3 - Go to the project page, download the 0.7.4(a) again and copy into the community folder
At least it worked for me.
Sorry, but it didn’t help. After activating the newly downloaded G3000 mod switching on the battery of the TBM results in a crash of the sim. Weird problem. Never happened to me before this latest hotfix.
Have you tried it again after the crash, but without removing and replacing the G3000 folder (i.e. don’t touch it)? This crashing business happens to me every time I replace the G3000 folder. As soon as I turn on the battery the sim freezes for a few seconds then gives up and crashes. If I then restart the sim, all is OK although it still always has a bit of a wobble every time I turn on the battery. If I delete and replace the G3000 folder with a freshly downloaded one, I can always look forward to the sim crashing the first run.
Nope, did not do that now, but did that earlier during testing. The sim keeps crashing reliably with this mod. A few times it freezed for a quite some time and then continues. But most of the time it crashes. Other mods have no influence on this cause they are present during this testing.
Admittedly I have not had an opportunity to try the sim in the past week so perhaps I may be in for the same thing. The crashing business as I described above has been happening to me for ages, though it could be an incompatibility with the TB930 mod that I use as well.
this happens to me aswell (ctd turning on batt). should note that it happens only at some airports and/or locations. and also can be inconsistent.
for me it happens in Norway. Especially at ENGM.
The TBM Improvement mod is not the culprit. Present or not the sim crashes, when the G3000 mod is active.
I have not noticed any dependency on airports. Nor the presence of third party airports or other mods like liveries. It’s definitely related to the G3000 mod. Remove that one and the problem is gone. But, that is not what you want.
Ive had this issue for a long time, not just after WU6, and for me it has always been a incompatibility issue between both mods - as the sim works fine with either one disabled/removed.
It is also a logged issue in their bug tracker, but it doesnt seem to get much attention.
Ive mentioned it several times before both here in the forum and in their respective Discord (where you are sent to the bug tracker, where it already is logged).
The fact that many people dont experience this might be many.
But if anyone want to try a cold dark start at a ramp at ENGM with the TBM with both mods installed and then hit the battery switch i would love to hear the results. (preferably try a couple times).
I have tried doing the same routine in airports outside of EU (thinking maybe it has to do with some WU) and in many other countries and especially airports it does NOT ctd.
No clue what is the problem, but its clear its something to do with both mods installed, in my case at least.
Apparently it’s a difficult problem to trace. I also mentioned it on their Discord. And uploaded crashdumps to a developer. But sofar the problem remains unsolved.
No problems (CTDs) whatsoever … WTG3000 with or without improvement mod (0.6.1) … with an otherwise Vanilla (only WU6) MSFS 2020 i.e. no liveries, no 3rd party airports etc.
Sorry to hear about your troubles… apparently you tried everything… usually it was liveries, airports etc.
0.6.1??? Isn’t the latest 0.7.4(a)?
As of today these are the latest versions.
WT G3000 7.4.a
TBM Mugz improvement mod 0.6.1
…. two different mods
My bad. Tks for the info. Didn´t knew there was an 7.4.1a
The a) is confusing and only found on the WT GitHub. If you download the 7.4 via their webpage you automatically get the a) version.
V7.3 does not have the battery switch crash problem, but is sadly enough also not usable, because of a black inoperable MFD and a few more avionics mishaps.
lol. I can’t still find an 7.4.1… all i can see is 7.4… Does anyone have a direct link for the 7.4.1?
Now I screwed up. It is 7.4.
I have edited my posts. See also the posts from further back where it was explained and correct.
Folks, there is a 0.7.4a. Working Title just hasn’t had the time to properly annotate and make identical all the versions naming.
There are TWO ways to get the latest Garmin Packages from Working Title:
-
Use the Working Title Aero Official Website - follow the Packages Link and find the Garmin model you want.
-
Working Title’s Github is the source code repository - it’s a bit user-unfriendly for anyone who’s not used to the Repository interface - but all the released packages (same ones as located in No. 1 above) are located in this area.
If you download both G3000 packages - they are identical - 22.5 MB as of this post 09/28/2021.
