Brief description of the issue:
This is using the A320 default or the flybywire version
When planning a trip using the in game world map flight planner, the IRF routes suggest what I think is a high speed for the approach (excess of > 200kts) . I notice speeds for each of the waypoints when clicking on the NAV page in the world view map (basically the same speed throughout the entire flight). I’m trying to practice landings using ILS and this causes me to engage selected altitude mode. Simbrief shows what is the correct information for the flight.

Detail steps to reproduce the issue encountered:
All can be reviewed from the World Map Flight plan
Setup a flight with the A320 using IRF low altitudes from Newburgh NY (any take off point) to LaGuardia NYC runway 22L. Click on the NAV and look at the speeds for each. I feel like this might be something I’m doing, because if I follow that plan my plane flies right past the airport, or crashes at those speeds. I have read there’s a lot of bugs, but is this one of them too? I know simbrief into the computer is better but I’d like to setup some simple static flights and that should work for the menus??

The default Flight plan doesn’t have waypoint airspeed restrictions. I never crashed though, because I know the speed limit of my aircraft and adjust them accordingly on approach.

@erfspam
Which STAR have you selected for 22? (There’s no 22L at KLGA).

@Neo4316 Thank you for your responses, you answered my question. I guess if I want to really autopilot all the way for the a320 gotta program it in so its managed speed, or import with sim brief.
@PZL104 It’s not 22L but its the star for runway 22 there’s only one option, but I see my dilemma now.

Never did these sims really before, I’m still learning. Its quiet a rabbit hole of information, and I’ve barely scratched the surface.

Even with imported sim brief flight plan, I don’t think the Autopilot can follow the airspeed restriction on the waypoint. But I’m not too sure yet. since I tried the SimBrief flight plan integration, but it can’t do a Gate-to-Gate flight plan, which made me park at an obscure location in the corner somewhere in the destination airport. So I stopped using it and just use the default flight plan which can create a gate-to-gate flight plan, and the ground ATC will follow suit with the gate assignment.

The only way that we can get a full autopilot all the way for the whole flight is if the FlyByWire team has implemented the VNAV/LNAV functionality which should take into account all the TOD, Waypoint altitude and speed restrictions as well. We know they’re working on that function, but we don’t know yet when that will come.
