Yes, I had another go this am, from the other direction - no luck Im afraid!
I would put it through as a bug now because it is only a 1 star photo which in my limited experience are usually fairly easy to get.
If you post link here I will vote for it for sure.
It was long ago when I did that one. So maybe the new update broke something?
Can you recall the altitude you did it at? Was it high above the crater or just above?
Thanks again for attempting this! I’d love to see a couple more voices speak up saying this is or is not possible for them, as well, but I will definitely file a bug soon.
I thought I deleted the photo, cause my laptop freezes every time when I want to open the big photo’s, but luckily, this time my laptop didn’t freeze and I took a screenshot, cause after 10 seconds it just closed the photo automatically.
But as you can see, I made the photo in February 2026.
And I also tried to do it again today, cause even if I’ve done it already. If I do it again, it should at least pop up the objective completion with the star again. I took also hundreds of photos, different angles, but nothing.
Definitely something messed up after some updates or city updates. I remember I had to turn USA update on again after some update, cause I couldn’t see a mountain. But I checked my Library for Italy, but everything seemed alright, so I don’t know.
And I bet if there were people out there who got the photo’s, it would be somewhere out there on the internet. Steam, Discord, Reddit, this website etc.
I also made bug report. But the more people report these photo (bonus condition) bugs and bring it under attention, hopefully they can just quick fix this.
Cause like, the devs can easily test it out, reproduce this, just play World Photographer and they will quickly find out if it works or not.

Yeah sure, I just made it quickly and if I see it now, my description is not so clear,(English is not my first language).
So be my guest, combine them/ and or make a new bug report. I can always post in your bug report.
This way we can easily let the devs know which photo’s are “buggy”, sso they won’t have to go through all of them, just the ones that ain’t working

I just need other players and this can be done within seconds. I need players, then I adjust my time in windows, take photo and done. Then visa versa for the other players. This can be done in seconds, please help. Let me know if you wanna help out.

I’d suggest you set up a multiplayer event in Community Content Hangar > Community Events for a specific date & time & explaining what is required that folks can then join.

You can create an event using the event tool. In a post, click the “+” widget on the far right of the actions bar:
Then Click Create Event:
Then fill out the form & click the “Create” Button at the bottom:
