I have also created some posts about this. I now see this post, so let me contribute here as well, so we can put this as much under attention so they can fix this. This should be easily fixed. Someone on the dev team could easily reproduce this, just try the photo them self and they will find out the Bonus Objective won’t trigger.
After some update, don’t know which one, other photo’s have been unobtainable to get the bonus objective!
I have now 508/514 Stars. I just need 6 more Stars.
I luckily did this one before (and did it with changing my windows settings time and date back to 2025 october/ january). So that’s how I did it back then. But my friends can’t get this one, it does not trigger anymore.. I also tried this one again and it also won’t work for me. And see the post before, another can’t get it.
So these are not working, I have also tested it in the BETA (the latest beta) and in the BETA is is not working also. So I also will create a new post in the BETA one, to let them know this still ain’t working.
So please also vote on these topics! So they can Fix this!
In World Photographer, the Vesuvius bonus condition is not triggering. This was discussed with multiple people in the User Forums and there were no examples of people getting it to trigger as of today (unless they did it before SU5, so might be a more recent change that is causing this). Screenshot attached of photo that is an example of 100s attempted to be taken in and around Vesuvius with the Naples harbor in the background. Using default aircraft and all default settings. No mods.
I second this report as said above having had the exact experience.
I tried at least 150 or more camera shots on 2 occasions to try and get this 1 star photo.
The little yellow camera is exactly over the mouth of Vesuvius and one can easily get the harbour in the background.
Nothing works to complete it after SU5, 3 of us tried including someone who had previously completed it.

No luck! Seems really close to your screenshot, but mission complete nore bonus star. With or without the aircraft in the frame which doesn’t matter in this mission.

I reported here and there.. My patience is getting kinda ff.. Where and , can somebody just tell of the DEV team or somebody that they work on this, or when this is gonna get fixed!!! like when is the planning to fix this., just let us know, next update, or over 6 updates??? WHEN??? 3 photo’s have not been able to get since the beginning., and it is only worse now!!! I’m lucky I got some photo’s., now other can’t get it cause it is bugged…
So you already had bugged photo’s, now there is even more bugged photo’s… like what the hell,., what are you doing

Solved! But they should explain me how the south-eastern face could be taken at a heading of 188°… Totally wrong written! As with that heading, I’m more south-south-west, and so facing the north-north-eastern face…

I’m a mod in Discord and Reddit, despite the world photographer not being the most active mode, I’ve seen 2 reports the past, where users one on xbox other on PC cannot get the star, even with extensive trial. I asked @MortThe2nd if he could try and do the same as I had gotten all three stars with about 6 months ago. (see screenshots), and with virtually identical photos the star didn’t activate.
I want to add, all 3 users have tried many times just getting a photo where at least that star got approved, even if the two others didnt, but to no avail.
REPRODUCTION STEPS
Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:
Choose World photographer and “historic landmarks” and mission 3 “Taj Mahal”
load in, and use photo mode to take a picture, no matter what, “With a front view of the Mausoleum” wont trigger.
