…How about disappointing a very keen and supportive customer base ?
Maybe a pr liaison could be useful, we have to accept what we have to accept but it was poor not informing us before the day we all rushed home from work to download. Hopefully they will handle it better next time, I’m sure their will be a next time.

Beautiful picture with perfect lighting. I thought it was a real picture at first, because the fake wake isn’t present.
I guess we just got to accept all this and take it or ask for refund. Unfortunately with companies like that customer never wins.
I must say that is most impressive - if the MSFS update renders the UK in anything like this detail I’ll be well pleased. Those mountain areas are a whole world away from the MSFS rendition (I’d forgotten just how rubbish the rounded hills are!), and I think we know we won’t be seeing better mountains yet, certainly with this update.
It is quite tempting to buy XPlane and this scenery, just for the pleasure of being able to fly around the mountains of the UK. But I think I’m going to hang on and see what the UK update actually delivers next week though …
Ha … I guessed on that one and believe it or not I did a google confirmation after your post just to confirm it. Not about to get involved with the ‘age’ thing though. It would appear that occasionally I do know when to remain silent
Omg really

We should also remember the infrastructure that supplies this game with its gorgeous scenery and an in game marketplace doesn’t run on milk and honey. And I’m sure the employees that keep this infrastructure up and running don’t work for free either. So of course they are going to get a cut off the top…just like Apple, Google, eBay, Etsy,…
It’s not so much the delay, as so many others have pointed out, but the lack of appropriate communication that has so many people frazzled. What puzzles me is that a whole day later, with upwards of 2100 posts on this thread (which they must surely be reading with horror!), they STILL haven’t bothered to let us know the reason for the delay. I say that, not because I feel we’re necessarily entitled to an explanation, but simply because they must surely have realized they need to do some serious PR work to restore the confidence of their base. And yet… nothing. How odd.
You should be well in time for the update on Tuesday then.

I don’t think anyone can be blamed for expecting this to happen given they were being this specific on the date within a week of release.
And for those posters expecting the delay to result in an update without bugs, I’m afraid you will be sadly disappointed.
Yep. If only I could have these visuals with x-plane everything else…including the developers communication.
I agree - it’s impressive to a degree that I wonder if Microsoft can actually match it! I think I am going to go for it, partly because I’m an A320 pilot in real life and actually want a study level aircraft for my own training purposes. It seems there are no study level A320’s available for FS2020 yet so X-plane is my only option - there are two study level options there. The True Earth stuff is just for when I fancy faffing around enjoying the view

If a few days delay of a free update, with no explanation, has shaken your confidence, then maybe computer gaming isn’t for you. This is a very common occurrence when updating code.
There are unreasonable people that would react the same if the patch is delayed with or without advance communication. You can’t do anything about those people, it’s a lose lose situation. But the last minute communication yesterday also made the REASONABLE people have a little sour taste in their mouth. Communication needs to be better so those reasonable people don’t react adversely.
X-Plane devs really don’t communicate much though and they rarely take feature requests into account
Whats with the few days? It is delayed for 3 weeks already, original date was 26-1. On the 21st there was a slight delay announcement. The big question is, will Sim Update 3 be shifted forwards for 3-4 weeks also…
Its not the delay, thats pfffft, peanuts, 5 days, maybe, who cares, its the communication about that that leads to somebodys frustration here, including myself.
Planned, expected, scheduled, locked (new!). So many words for just one fact, the unknown date of an release.
Why is everyone so scared to call things by their names today?
Next time just make it better. Please.
