It’s rather crude and I was really hoping I could bin the terrain and just have the airports but it looks like it might be staying.
Everything’s been raised from sea level to make an approximation of elevations.
Maybe they’ll do something with the France and benelux update?

One small issue is of course that the Channel Islands aren’t in the UK but you’d hope they weren’t that petty.
I’m hoping to be surprised with them but I’m not holding out much hope this time. I wonder how many people have logged complaints about it. I’ll guess a lot of foreign flyers don’t know they’re broken.
France all of a few miles away is absolutely fine. They really should’ve done something after all this time but they’re also flat as a pancake in Bing Maps still too.
I think not, because the latest fps improvement by lowering the updates over time of the FMC has been turned back. Therefore the fps are possibly a little bit less.
Who needs a Channel Islans update when you have Superspud’s mod and ORBX vessels installed. Had a great time island hopping and exploring the scenery yesterday. There is so much free stuff over at flightsim.to and I for one am very grateful for the time and effort that goes into it. Ww have a fantastic sim now for the base as well and I’m excited about every new update.
If the update came from England the team would be up at 9am for a 10am pointless and rambling team call that descends into tittle-tattle, 11am tea and smoking break, lunch at 12, back at 2pm for the 2.30pm conference call, then down the pub at 4pm.
Book a long weekend and we’ll have the update by Tuesday, god willing. Anyone fancy making a cuppa? I’m parched.
Proper elevations would be great. I will go back to it and try to make it more natural if Asobo haven’t done anything but I’d prefer it if they did properly. I’d still be improving buildings, docks and lighthouses.
There’s bits where I looked at a giant ridge down the landscape where terraforming clashed and said to myself ‘whateverrrrr’ as that was the only thing that just about worked.
Everyone should get the Orbx/ Seafront Simulations thing. It’s pretty darned lavish.
So if I’m in the middle of a flight when the update drops, do I get kicked off the sim and forced to update? Or will it just do it when I next start the sim?
(I know you can’t start the sim without the latest version)
France is not that ok, the West generally, I just flew from San Sebastian to Nantes (on my way to the UK) and you will quickly see and understand why France is in the next world update. It’s not bad but I’ll avoid that part of France until the update.
Well if they’ve done the UK what about the Falkland Islands? I highly doubt they’re in the update, but would be cool.
Check out orbx free boats for Guernsey, adds lots of craft round the islands , and too hoping for major improvements all round !

At least it has some hills. I haven’t flown there much yet but it looked pretty similar to most of the UK.
Alderney to France is all of 12/13km. I could just about understand ignoring Guernsey, but you’d think someone would notice that.
