World update 3: UK

I am happy for the UK users that they are getting a World update, for me too because I found flying in the UK rural areas using farms and pigstys as VFR landmarks very immersion breaking. All these office blocks look identical.
Happy for the pigs too because they won’t be evicted from their multi-storey accommodation with air conditioning, lifts and wall-to-wall carpets before Xmas.

Don’t forget the turkeys…

Sorry, I don’t think they will survive Xmas. Presidential pardons are not given there.

Possibly because its one of the airports that Aerosoft do so maybe they dont want to tread on Aerosofts toes, being that they are a partner. Just a guess though.

Really? You didn’t catch the tongue in cheek nature of the comments? Glass is half empty I guess…LOL

I dont see any indication that comments from a couple of people in this thread were remotely " tongue in cheek " to be honest. We obviously cannot hear inflection in a post and secondly some of the negative posts have no emojis either. How is anybody supposed to know how to interpret the feeling behind posts like that? Fair play in your case, you did use emojis.

Presidential pardons for turkeys are actually a ‘thing’. Only recently (last few days?) a couple of turkeys called Corn and Cob stayed at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel (free of charge) before a decision was made which of the two birds should be pardoned. My hope is that they both had a great meal here and plenty to drink before their fate was decided. The next day reality kicked in and a decision had to be made. Corn apparently was pardoned by President Trump and we are left to guess at the sorry plight that possibly befell Cob.

Noo … This is so wrong.

Our UK pigs don’t like air conditioning and wall-wall-carpeting. That’s not their thing or want. They’re looking forward to the period after Xmas and a return to their good honest old fashioned stys. As the phrase goes they are happier in … Well, I won’t finish that but maybe you get the idea.

You can check out the new aerial imagery coming with the update in Bing Maps already. Ireland is not in yet though.

yes, I agree with you but I flew with the Orbx scenery of England in X-plane. Very good job but in my opinion it’s not spectacular as the alps, for example.
The actually England scenery is good, while the Alps are very poor of detail and poor of altimetric details. They need an urgent improvement.

Europe is too big for an Update? The extension of the entire Europe is less then the USA. And also the USA has a lot of detail with lakes, rivers and mountains ranges.
I agree with you that the main difficult is replicate the various differences for every nations.

It rains less in the UK than in Seattle - the hometown of Microsoft.

Frodo was pleased to return to “The Shire” after a seeing the spectacular scenery around Mount Doom.

One problem with mountains is the “pointy” bits. They will never look right till this is sorted. As they said in the Q&A, Asobo are working on this problem at the moment.

Dover itself also needs attention as it is misaing all of the key buildings.

Ha ha, we tend not to end our sentences with “Period”, just a simple understated “.”

I think we have heard small minded xenophobic claptrap from you quite honestly.

Yes, I agree fully with you and well said :relaxed:

I had my say earlier on but i’ve now decided to let karma/the law of attraction run its course. What you give out you get back. It never fails. It just sometimes takes a bit of time. That’s good enough for me. No real need for me to say anything else really.

Thank you for your comment anyway. I hope you have a great day.
