When referring to the spacescrapers and spikes, I was referring to othersâ reports of them. I was unaware that they were releated to add-ons.
Howâs it been otherwise for you? This is slowly turning into the best update for me - the sim is looking gorgeous and that ridiculous ATC bug has been fixed. Mostly everything is working great now (render scale bug aside).
Iâve been flying over the Swiss Alps and they look absolutely stunning. I hope Asobo can do the Himalayas and the Rockies to this level of quality as well - seeing these mountains make me greedy for me. Not sure if the DEM exists for the Himalayas, but the Rockies should be possible.
Wold be great, but likely not. Itâs swiss authorities who provided the data for the mesh, I donât think Himalaya or Rockies are equally meticulously scanned by the respective countries.
Those Swiss I tell you⊠doing everything with ridiculous precision and ruining things for the rest of the world!

SU5 was terribly unstable for me, so that seems to be a big improvement. Still had a couple of mystery CTDs and a complete freeze of the sim that after almost 5 minutes didnât recover and required me to shut it down from task manager. Otherwise though, Iâm good with this update, as it fixed my most pressing issues.
The terrain morphing in the alps though. Thatâs hard to look at. Took a couple of sights to take in the new DEM data. Seeing landscapes being drawn in like that is horribly jarring and not pleasant at all. It was the same with the Nordics update too. I found that one to be a huge disappointment as well.
I just wanted to add my experience and confirm that the sim is superb since the latest update. It was OK before after I had done the trick of editing the CFG and making it read-only but before this latest update I made the CFG read-write and deleted the rolling cache then updated. After a flight in the Cessna and a long flight in the FBW A320 the sim is looking superb with great looking scenery and weather plus plenty of traffic right out of the box. Even the clouds looked good ! The only issue I found is that there is a bit less ATC. I wasnât getting any altitude commands. Maybe this was their way of fixing the altitude bug?? Whatever, I am really pleased with this update.
PS before I could update the sim it kept telling me I had to update the Windows Store but WS was telling me there was no update. After some searching I found I had to now have the XBox app. As soon as that was installed everything updated. Maybe this was in the release notes but I didnât see it.

Did a 6 hour one the other day no problem. For me 30fps is fine .

So far no ctd s so appears stable and have been enjoying flying which is a relief after su5.
A few bought airports still have few issues from su5 but looks like these are being worked on.
Glad asobo was listening to all issues.
I did have an odd issue were suddenly pilots arms and legs went through canopy of aircraft and I couldnât throttle up. Kinda funny but after a restart of sim it hasnât occurred again.

I was happy on Series X before the recent update. WU6 has completely broken PG cities for me and the terrain morphing in the Swiss mountains is absurd at this point.
Also night flying is ruined.
Performance was great at launch but each hotfix and update has degraded performance.
Not happy with the state of development right now.
What puzzles me is the variety of experiences we are having, ranging from all bad to all good!
For me, WU6 has indeed been good - 3 flights so far, 45min each, CRJ550 in VR, real weather, real traffic, ATC, and all went nice and smooth. 3 very enjoyable flights with some incredible vistas - and not a single CTD since the update!
Keeping my fingers x-ed it stays that way, and hopefully things get sorted out quickly for those who are having a hard time with the sim. When it works, it is so much fun!

Unfortunately, youâll always have that small, vitriolic, hate filled and dismissive group that will never acknowledge when something is good. Thankfully, we know who it is, itâs always the same people, just gotta put them on the ignore list

Unfortunately, just had my first WU6 CTD, on the 4th flight since the update. I was doing nothing fancy, just practicing precision approaches at ESSA in the TBM. On the last of 6 appraches, the sim decided to quit on me. The error log unfortunately gives not hints.
Imho the CTD is the most pressing issue Asobo needs to fix. In comparison, nothing else mattersâŠ
