Is there a summary of things already known for world update III?
I hope they do a good job of N Ireland. Before buying msfs I checked bing maps to get an idea of what to expect. It looked good. Even my dinghy was beside my caravan so I expected things to look much better than they do. My townhall is a large block of flats, my local marina looks like a primary kids bad drawing, the whole landscape near me is dotted with generic blocks. Disappointed, though other parts of the World are beautiful. I enjoyed a fabulous vfr flight this evening from Nice to Marseille. Stunning. Please bring the UK up to that standard.
Lets hope they do all of Ireland!!! When Orbx did TE UK it included the eastern side of NI and when I asked if there were any plans to include the rest I was told the source imagery was too expensive. So fingers crossed.
What I can say about Update II is the grass strips in England are now golf fairways when they used to be cattle pastures.

How about working tides, and we can all try and land on the causeway to Holy Island (during low tide, of course)? We wouldnât want to be like the odd motorists who get stuck out there when the tide comes in.

All of this would be great, but the whole update would be ruined if the coastline glitch isnât fixed with / in advance of the new update.
Thought that was the sim for a moment, i had to take a second look.

Same here, it was the bare legs of the guy (hopefully in shorts) behind the aircraft that made me change my mind.
What do you think is better, considering the same place?

- Comunity world update
Community stuff varies massively, but when itâs good it can be far beyond Asobo.
Asobo have a whole world to stay on top of so it stands to reason that one local who wants their patch to shine will do a better job than them.

I hope they will skip Gatwick (EGKK) because there is a fantastic free version available. This developer is really into details but also keeps an eye on performance. Therefor he updated two versions (Normal and Ultra). Both look really amazing.

I would assume Jetstream Design is also working on an MSFS version of Gatwick which shouldnât be far away.
And they already announced what airports theyâre bringing in their last Q&A and Gatwick is not among them
Highly unlikely but London photogrammetry.
One of the only major cities without it & it sucks.

I hope Scotland gets some work done, especially the west coast. Highlands and Islands, and good rendittions of the iconic Forth Rail, Road bridges and Edinburgh

Itâs unlikely because it would kill ORBX London City landmarks and ORBX is a close partner of theirs. Eventually when we have the Scenery Gateway System we wonât need photogrammetry anyway. Gotta think in the long term.
Sorry but I think you are completely wrong if you think a gateway in any way replaces photogrammetry. Photogrammetry is the future, the gateway is for filling in the blanks, nothing more.
