Is there a way to vote on what we want the next few World Updates to be? like a top 10 list or something we can vote? for example I would like to vote for the Mediterranean area (greece, cryprus, jordan, israel) but wasn’t sure where to cast this vote.
If I may make a suggestion: While you absolutely can vote on whatever you want – and I won’t discourage you to not vote – in the case of world updates (and only world updates, not the rest of Wishlist), I don’t believe that vote count has a major influence on what they do and don’t do.
They plan to go around the entire world with world updates, so whether you vote for a world update or not, they’re going to do it. Their timeline is strongly tied to data availability. They rely on local government and companies to provide the data they need, and some data is easier to obtain than others, and I believe that that drives the timeline much more strongly than vote count.
But that being said, do feel free to vote anyway. But if I were you, I would comment in those world update threads and list out some of the POIs you might be interested in seeing in such a world update.
While I’m here, you may have noticed that most topics in the forums are tagged by country (and in some cases, islands). That is a deliberate effort to make the forums more searchable. I know that Mallorca is important to you. You can find all Mallorca topics by browsing the tag #balearic-islands. Every country in the world is tagged, so feel free to browse by tag, too.
thanks for the insider info. I wasn’t sure if they looked at what countries and features seemed to be most popular to help plan the timeline. But as you’ve now informed that isn’t the case, so I can stop putting any more effort towards that.
Hopefully the devs will have easy access to the Greek ortho and DEM data to allow them to include it in a near-future World Update. cheers
Sure! Just a heads up that this is only my guess, based on what Jörg has said in the developer streams and the fact that South Korea has been on feedback snapshot for a few years now. So none of it is insider info.
