Why not make world updates on demand. If I want to fly in a particular local then I can download that local etc. Example tomorrows Australia if I want to fly there then I could go download it.
You don’t have to download the whole WU. Normally there is a fairly small update (from the store or I assume from steam if you’re on that) and a smallish update in the sim. But the actual WU will be listed in the in-sim store catalog, but is optional. You can “buy” it for free, and will always own it. You can uninstall any WU you already have but don’t want to use, and then download it when you want to use it.
Don’t forget there may be other updates to planes, etc in the content manager.
