When flying X-Plane my favorite payware aircraft was the Rotate MD-80. It was well modeled and incredible to fly. Although Delta is retiring this aircraft they have used it quite a bit on their medium length flights on the east coast of the United States. Living in central Florida we fly thru Atlanta a lot on our way to pretty much anywhere (as Delta’s hub is located there). I’ve spent so many times on MD-80’s that I really enjoy getting to fly something I spend a lot of time on in the real world.
@pccoder , share the same! I have the Rotate MD-80 as well and it’s a joy to fly. Also, I have the Leonardo version for P3D and similar experience with a bit better visuals to go along with it. It wasn’t always my favorite aircraft to fly in as a passenger but I really learned to love it learning more about it. It’s one of the quietest places you can be if you are sitting towards the front. I always remember feeling that push from the back whenever you would level off after a descent and power was reapplied. Not something you usually get in other aircraft. Very unique bird worthy of being in MSFS.
Have over 6000 hours in that thing, worst flying aircraft, and I mean all aircraft from bug smashers to jets, that I ever flew. Just a bag of poorly responding controls and design deficiencies.
Leonardo is indeed working on bringing his to MSFS. I have lots of nice memories in them myself, back when they were American’s main workhorse.
and I love it just the same.
Has this been confirmed anywhere?
