At 1080p it sounds doable (30-45fps, my guess, maybe more).
Absolutely! I do 4K Ultra on a lesser system. A flight simulator doesn’t require the high frame rates of a high-speed arcade game.

I have the same setup except mine is the standard Nvidia 2070 and I run Ultra settings with a 43’’ 3840 x 1200 120Hz Ultrawide monitor and get an average of 45 to 50 FPS..

It depends on your Community folder and the number and size of the mods. I use MSFS Addons Linker to manage it.

The only thing I would suggest you consider is that for the price of the 2080 super, there are some pretty good deals on the Ti’s

Yes for 1080p and 1440p.For 4k that’s out of the equation but I would have waited on the 3070 with 2080ti performance and its faster than the 2080super for less its msrp.

I have the 875-0034 with the i7-9700. I have added ram to 32gb at 3200 and a 1TB SSD from the original 256GB SSD. My system has the 1660Ti with 6gb Ram.
I also upgraded my mobo to an MSI Z390M Gaming Edge. I have only flown once with the settings at Ultra in a C172 off an Island in the South Pacific so little scenery to be drawing. It flew smoothly, but I did not check the actual FPS. My sound is not working yet. I still need to clean out all the old drivers from the previous mobo so maybe this weekend.
Also, my 34" monitor is running at 3200x2400 something resolution.
It will, but I would shy away from locked intel chips.
In about 2 days I would stay away from any intel chips tbh 
also, to the topic starter; I would not invest in a new 2000 series NVidia card right now. I know availability of the 3000 ones is low, but it really doesn’t make sense to get a 2000 series now.
Just wait for availability of the 3000 series, or the 5000 Radeon series from AMD.
After getting sound to work I have now flown over more populated areas with the Ultra settings. My results are that I have now reset to High settings
I was getting stutters while low over PDX.

Would you say that the fans are really loud when running FS?
If you cap the frame rate to 30, does it get better (less noisy)?
