This is a bit clunky. I’m trying to diagnose some Flight Pro panel hardware that doesn’t seem to be working in FS 2020, FSX or X-Plane, so this means unplugging and plugging things back in. Its frequently crashing to desktop without warning when I plug in my Radio and Switch panels. X-Plane handles this fine and surely a modern PC title like FS 2020 shouldn’t be upstage in the Plug and Play stability department by its 13-year-old predecessor.
its a knowing issue. Had the same when i’m activiting the printer- flight sim crashed…
Hmm. A Microsoft app failing these requirements is somewhat hilarious
Not to mention the somewhat more limited and sandboxed environment for SimConnect and WASM module loading being there to prevent third-party apps from crashing the sim. Do as we say, not as we do?
Not just plugged or unplugged. My hardware is on a 4 way hub with switches and if those switches are off when I start the sim, it CTD! I was flabbergasted when I found this out. I don’t necessarily want to use the hardware, if I was just checking a newly developed scenery object for example and frankly this is an embarrassing oversight that the sim was released with something as basic as this not working properly.
