Write access to folder ...\SimObjects\Airplanes

Ideally you shouldn’t let MSFS install the additional sim data (the Community and OneStore folders) into the default location which is *C:\Users<MyName>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages* for exactly this reason, it’s a pain to work with.

Does the access you have currently allow you to “copy and paste” files from the packages folder to a separate folder?

If so, then I’d try following the instructions on the links below. Once you have moved the Community and OneStore folders to a separate location outside the packages folder you should be free to change the files as you like.
