Ha. Yes I just loaded up the sim and I now have beautiful overcast skies here in Melbourne, just like I see out the window.
I can’t take the credit though. Others figured it out; I’m just reporting it lol.

It’s an add-on called Weather Preset Pro, it’s available from a few different third party web shops like Orbx Central and as payware on FSTO. What it does is pretty simple - nothing actually gets added to community folder but it downloads and saves various weather presets to the folder where the sim stores your saved sim files like weather or flight plans etc.
You can manually create your own and save them, but these have settings all configured to match the name of the preset - such as winter storm or zero vis or freezing rain etc - and if you’ve ever created weather presets it can be a pain in the butt so I like that there are just so many options to choose from ready to go.
So no it doesn’t use metars as it’s using custom weather.

The first time I tried to fly tonight was during the previously-identified daily window (6:00pm - 7:12pm US Eastern?) when Live Weather doesn’t work on the US East server. Later on, however, during a lovely VFR flight from Maui to Honolulu, weather was working just fine - scattered clouds at various levels matched the ATIS information from both airports, and no weird weather transitions as I flew along at about 6,000’ during the 30 minute flight.

Meteoblue is in Basel Switzerland. So, 1800 EST, is 0000 CET. If you’re meteoblue, and you’re going to reset a server, then 0000 local time is often selected. Just a theory.

Don’t be too concerned, it’s just a game. If you’re new to flight sims, it takes several years for a new flight sim to iron out major issues, unlike Halo which is all fantasy, and nobody knows what’s a bug and what isn’t a bug.

Hey now - HALO is 20 years old. I bought the OG XBox on launch just to play that game. Sure, some things can be hand-waved as fantasy, but if your needler pellets are green instead of vibrant purple, or the Grunts actually manage to kill the Master Chief, THOSE are bugs. 
Working perfect for me. Flew from cloudy KLGA to a foggy, drizzly KBOS. Pretty cool going through multiple cloud layers before popping out into sunshine at FL230 over RI. Love the fact that when flying through clouds you get hit with varying levels of turbulence.

The weather has been most of the time awful for me. I tried many locations and it’s mostly a towering mess plus clouds on the ground.
People who are concerned should be concerned. And these ugly photos are from the beta!

From my side it is working better than before! Everything looks like METAR is reporting. Really happy now 
KORD METAR reported some inches of snow at the ground like an hour ago and the snow is there. Never seen this before

Number 3 is similar to SoCal when there is a fire.
Maybe add that in and the TFR and the Airborne Firefighters, smoke jumpers…? 
Maybe by next week?

Good news: Live weather is working again, thank you to the team for resolving it.
Less good but should have been expected news: Cloud bases are too low and there are jarring changes in the dynamic weather system. However, MS/Asobo have said they are looking into these and hope to sort out some fixes soon.
Not sure, news: Not (as far as I can see) on the list of acknowledged bugs is the lack of storms in live weather, I know some have found them, but they really are rare now.
Overall, it’s working, they know about what’s wrong and we know most if not all of the issues are being looked into. I feel optimistic about it all and happy to wait for the next SU.

Really ? Since four or five days for me live weather didn"t work… I try to get update on it, i was afraid to download all the game because of it. Can you tell me more about it ? How long have you had a problem with the live weather? Thanks
