X Box series

Don’t know how anyone else feels but personally the xbox fraternity are the poor relatives when it comes to MFS we are just as keen as the computer users but as far as addons etc there non existant for us except what we can get in the market place once a week would be nice to have a helicopter etc .

I agree that we Xbox users are treated as the poor relatives of MSFS, but there again we paid much less for an Xbox, and probably have a much more stable platform on which to explore the potential of MSFS.

This forum is full of moans and groans from PC users who are continuing to tweak a sophisticated computer and are frustrated when it isn’t perfect. As an xbox users I’ve made a few mistakes in upgrading over the past months and since I’ve had this my first ‘games’ console. It is a strange beast unlike any computer I’ve had in the past, and it can be pretty frustrating finding Xbox specific guidance when things go wrong.

The Xbox marketplace is tiny compared to what I found elsewhere for the PC, and I am hesitant about having to pay for items in the marketplace that have no reviews by actual users. Most third party PC libraries on other websites, of MSFS addons usually indicate how many downloads have been made and offer user comments. Thus providing some kind of quality control and feedback as to the desirability of the add-on. As an Xbox user there is no such way of communicating satisfaction or dissatisfaction in the marketplace and this is the marketplace biggest weakness. As the sole provider of Xbox addons the marketplace fails to make choice of quality, easy for the users. There is as far as i can see, also no freeware available which users can ‘play’ with and developers can offer to try out, unlike third party website for the PC users of MSFS, who have a multitude of good, bad and indifferent items to try.

MS/Asobo are good at protecting us console users from going wrong, but at the same time denying us the opportunities to to experiment, With tried and tested addons being developed first on the PC, I think it will be a continuing fact of MSFS life, that we Xbox users will be at the end of any queue.

I moved from PC to Xbox back in 2008 permanently for gaming. The constant need to upgrade and incompatible components were a headache on PC.

Yes we don’t get as many options for peripherals or add-ons but we do usually get consistency with working products (quality of products could improve).

I do wish that they would open up to more developers so we could see a bit more. But that is what it is.

I take the good with the bad. MSFS for me has been a great experience so far.

The nice thing with a community such as this forum is we can share setup tips, rate content or just find new people to fly with. It’s all good :+1:

I think the Xbox version is superb and beats hands down my old FSX setup which often took hours to get going and then you became bored.

there are no add ons though for New Zealand and hope this will happen soon!!!
