X52msfsout - An app to control LEDs and MFD on the Saitek/Logitech X52 Pro joystick

This is the discussion thread for x52msfsout, a stand-alone program for PC which allows you to connect your X52 Pro to MSFS and program it via an XML configuration file to

  • Turn on/off and control the brightness of your leds and MFD based on your master battery switch or any other simulator variable.
  • Execute commands in the simulator via joystick buttons. It gives you more options than the Control Options screen. For example, you can execute so-called calculator code. Also, buttons may have different functions depending on the Mode Wheel and/or custom defined SHIFT buttons.
  • Change the color or blink your leds when something happens in the simulator. Custom blink patterns can be defined.
  • Planned: display dynamic pages on your MFD with data from your simulator. Also, change data in the simulator using the MFD wheels and buttons. This way you can build a COM and NAV radio control or you can display weather data.

Technically, this is a rewrite of X52LuaOut https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/35304-x52luaout-winmaclin/ created for X-Plane. The rewrite is about 40% ready, the biggest missing functionality is the dynamic MFD screen. Keep in mind, though, that I’m not an expert in C++ or Lua.

Hello there. I have some good news. I did manage to write a script to interact with x52 pro MFD and display data from msfs 2020 aircraft. I do use SimConnect + Python. Let me know if there are still people interested in a plugin for this dinosaur.

Sounds great. I would be interested very much in getting back MFD and LED support in a simple way for MSFS 2024.
