X56 hotas stick x y and z axis stopped working

All other buttons and the mini stick work OK. I have tried swapping in my older thrustmaster and have the identical problem. This seemed to happen right after I ran Norton Ultimate Utilities Registry clean up. Any ideas?

Did you try running that Util program to make sure it’s sending signals? I’ve had 2 X56s and they can be a pain to reset.

which util program?

I think it’s called DIView. I had to do an extensive web search to find it and learn the process for resetting an axis. Maybe someone else has the information handy and can reply…

Did you check to see if they were running in the Controls section?
If not try reinstalling the drivers.

I think I’ve seen that mentioned in one of the forums THX

If it shows there’s no signal coming from the X56, then your stick is broken.

Same thing in the control panel under X56 HOTAS stick props

If the registry cleaner removed the drivers, you could try the download.

Does the same thing with another stick

Did you check if the bindings were reset/changed?

I assume you mean within MSFS 2020. They weren’t changed and I can’t make the sliders move.

Try removing the axis from the selected controller profile in the sim and then adding it back again. That often works for stuck axis.

I have tried that several times no luck

Buried somewhere deep in the registry of windows there is a line or two that defines the working parameters of the joy stick. One of logitechs supposed “solutions” is actually a script file (regedit) that is supposed to clear existing settings and allow one to start anew re-calibrating the joystick. Anyone know where this line or lines is located in the registry? I have downloaded and run this file with no fix. I did notice that after running this script initially when I opened the calibration window the settings were normalized. After 2 seconds it was back to business as normal.

I’ve had exactly the same thing happen to me today. Upgraded from Win 10 to Win 11 - and it’s killed all the axis on the X-56. Buttons/hats still work but axes are locked at the bottom right corner.

Rolling back to Win 10 didn’t solve it either.

Try using DIView to calibrate you stick.
It has helped others with the same issue.

Thanks. That’s the utility I recommended above.
