Anybody else having to sign in to xbox live on their desktop before start up will continue. Never had to before last update. Don’t even have xbox installed!
I’ve had to since day one. And if I don’t update the XBox components after each patch I can have trouble installing or running the game.
I don’t own a console and never will so it is annoying that there are so many services and apps I have to run for the game to work reliably.
Mea Culpa; I had recently done a reinstall to tidy up the file system and i had forgotten to install the digital license from the Microsoft store.
