Hi all! I found the cause of overheating on my Xbox. The problem was the thermal paste, it just dried out. I cleaned the console from dust, etc., but I changed the thermal paste in February 2023. During this time, it dried out a lot. That time I used the MX-4, I played a lot, but the games became more demanding, especially MSFS and 737, the paste dried out quickly. On September 28, I applied the new MX-6 thermal paste (I wanted to try it) and everything worked. I made 3 flights on a 737-800 to different cities within a few days:
- From EGPH to EHAM Edinburgh-Amsterdam (flight was at night, real weather) - everything was great! Flight time 1 hour 10 minutes
- From EHAM to LSZH Amsterdam - Zurich (flight was during the day, real weather + multiplayer) - everything was great! Flight time is the same as the first time
- From EGCC to LOWI Manchester - Innsbruck (flight was during the day, real weather + multiplayer) - everything was super! Flight time is 2 hours 15 minutes.
3 flights out of 3 and no overheating or crashes.
The console temperature is normal, the top is warm, the bottom is cold.
Sorry for blaming the developers, I was wrong and it’s completely my fault that I haven’t updated the thermal paste since February.
I think the update also did some good, the game became smoother.
