[Xbox Series X/S] Visual Downgrade - LOD Reduction

Zoe, there are so many opinions on this topic. Official recommendation is to have rolling cache turned on with 16 gb. I use the default 8 gb and it was perfect in SU10 on Series S.

Comments like this reek of PC elitism and now in hindsight are quite dumb.

Glad there is a fix coming.

Yeah, that’s why I cautioned several folks here multiple times not to lean too hard on speculation about some intentional graphics/performance tradeoff here!

Pleasy fix this Asobo, Xbox series s user, the graphics after sim update 11 are horrible!

As @StormVR6 suggested, I’ll update the original post with relevant information. I’m sure that those of us who are watching the livestream will be discussing it here as the updates come in.

You can’t but Xbox devkits, they are distributed sparingly by Microsoft to developers.

The main thing to consider is Asobo ignored many times very valuable input during the beta tests. Users like AerMingus are doing a great service but their findings are often ignored. This should change and I hope Jorg Neumann will adress this issue during livestream.

I’m not well informed on this; do you know why devkits are distributed so sparingly? I can’t think of any reason it wouldn’t be beneficial to fit Asobo with whatever they need, especially with how clear it has become that emulators don’t make for a perfect QA environment. Not to mention the fact that this is for Microsoft Flight Simulator. I’d think they could do more to help the devs with getting the simulator working on their flagship console.

Let’s keep fingers crossed…

It’s mainly due to concerns about the safety of the platform. A devkit console can run any code and is distributed in small quantities to most trusted, first party developers.

That makes sense, but wouldn’t Asobo be one of these trusted developers?

Hard to tell really, remember they are independent, not owned by Microsoft.

I would be shocked if this was fixed before Q1 2023.
