[Xbox Series X/S] Visual Downgrade - LOD Reduction

Check if your online services are disabled in the options. Sometimes they reset by themselves.

I updated the post after it got flagged. :joy:

Yes, it’s all enabled. I already tried to change servers and still continue with this loading problem here at least. My internet is ok, maybe it could be a problem with the internet route, who knows.

I’m always online, the problem is with loading the scenery.

Thanks for clarifying that.

I mean, that was pretty funny in hindsight.

Autocorrect not only guessed the wrong word, it picked a word that totally changed the meaning into something awful! :joy:

Anyway, as one of the few flight sim girls on these forums, I would have never said that intentionally.

Are you talking about the beta?

Yes. UA is on the beta.

Some mountain morphing/popping in in the distance is still noticeable. Not everywhere, but it’s there. I’m not talking about textures resolution, so I think it’s not a server related issue.

That is LOD. And at altitude that circle of highest detail is a little visible if you fixate one it. But it is now at the proper LOD setting for Xbox in the beta. Off in the distance.

I believe that little morphing sometimes, has always been there? I even see it on YouTube where people use very, very high end rigs.

Sometimes is very annoying, especially when you fly over rocky shores. In Saba Island is pretty bad.

From 12th January development update:

I suppose that LOD fixing will be in march with SU12…

That’s not correct. The LOD fix is part of Avionics and Aircraft Update 1 which, as per the post you’ve quoted, is slated for release later this month (and already available as an excellent beta for anyone who wants to test it out).

Glad to read this, thanks.

I think LOD issues on Xbox are indeed fixed, except over photogrammetry cities. I have just made the following test: with Cessna 152, take off on runway 27 in London City airport with clear sky, 1pm in summer, and climb at 1500 ft while maintaining heading 270. There is still a lot of pop in on buildings/houses as long as I am above PG scenery. From PI Stamford Bridge, PG stops, then LOD becomes 100% smooth. NB: I play on Series X

I hope it will be fixed, as PG cities are the most impressive area’s visually IMO. It seems that the latest beta update has improved things, but SU10 was superior

when is the next SU release? I thought last month they said it would be in mid January.

Sim Update 12 is scheduled for March, but the AAU beta should become public in late January.

Later this month, the game will be patched along with the AA Update.

I didn’t see it in SU8
