I guess MS/Asobo has got their hands full with MS2024 at the moment. Either way, marketplace purchases will make the port over so I’m not worried as much by it.
Even the AAU2 787s have performance issues for me. But I couldn’t figure out how PMDG manages to release a good performing airliner with such deep avionics and etc. i guess we have to wait and see if things change in 2024.
PMDG performance update for Xbox was supposed to be tonight. Not sure what they’ve done for MS to consistently ensure they get placed at the back of the queue…
Probably too many DreamScenery Night Packs ahead of them lol. It is very frustrating that the addons and fixes that most people want seem to be pushed to the side sometimes.
Do you suppose those on the Series X would see some performance gains? I know they’re targeted for Series S and slower PCs but I’m sure it’s not a seperate build for the different systems. I’m excited to see the AFDS roll behaviour update too, my 737 overshoots the magenta most of the time.
I agree, PMDG did a great job. I have issues with the Asobo 787 after AAU2 as well, and also issues with the Asobo A310.
I find that I’m flying the Just Flight Bae-146 more now, just to avoid the black avionics screens on complex airports. So far the Sim Update 13 beta hasn’t helped with that either.
I have to say the more i fly the PMDG 737, the more I want all the other airliners to perform the same way, it’s just that good, performance and simulation wise.
I bought many aussie airports during the sale, to bring my PMDG around abit more, but sadly only Perth by Axonos hasn’t given me a single CTD/Black screen as of current.
The updated EGNX is superb. It’s not quite perfect as it will still black screen when really pushed (especially with the ATR, oddly), but it is greatly improved and hasn’t actually CTD’d on me thus far. No noticeable affect on detail, although of course I’m aware something’s had to give, somewhere.
In an ideal world I’d like to see just a pinch more optimisation but, given its complexity, it’s really good following this new fix.
Bought LN Designs’ Blackbushe earlier, for only £4.59 in the current mini-sale. A pretty nice little GA airport and its performance is solid as a rock! It’s not on a par with Burning Blue detail-wise but there are some nice touches that certainly make it worth a look at nearly half price.
Had a great trip in the PMDG 738 from WSSS to WMKK and saw first hand the VDGS at WMKK (BTW I’m on Xbox) and had an open gate! VDGS is great and two more airports that have no BSs or CTDs!
Just bought MMYN Nassau By SierraSim Because I fancied so Carribbean flying today so far it works great no black screen no CTDs.
The airport has no interiors or anything but the modeling of the outside of the terminal is nice. The Airport cost £13 and for what it is it’s good and hey I can fly the 737 there no problem.
Then I bought MWCR Grand Cayman From Vuelosimple and it’s the complete opposite as soon as you load into the airport immediate black screen on the aircraft I thought especially the size of the airport is slightly smaller than Nassau but that doesn’t seem to matter so that’s a don’t buy from Me waste of £8.39.
Then I risked another £8.39 on Las Americas From BravoAirSpace and well known Livery Dev and it’s the complete opposite of Grand Cayman while they are all roughly the same download size and this airport comes with a little interior and the tower you can see out of and I can fly the 737 in and out of it just fine.
So Nassau & Las Americas are good to purchase if you fancy some flying in the Carribbean.
I just bought a PMDG 737-600 over the weekend, but unfortunately CTD twice in four flights ( 50% CTD ) on my Xbox Series X , both of flights were using the Asobo’s handcraft airport (from Frankfurt Airport to Heathrow Airport), I turned off LIVE Traffic and kept LIVE Weather, Both CTD’s were during cruise stage , one time I was switching outside views, the other time I was even just looking up at the upper panel, it was not happen when taking off or landing stage , and there is no avionics black screen just CTD.
Although the PMDG 737-600 uses the differently Xbox game pad operate style than other aircraft, although you can’t use SimBrief to import flight plans, although livery need to pay costs extra, I still like this high-fidelity aircraft, but the stability will affect me to consider to purchase PMDG 777-200 in the future.I also look forward to subsequent updates to improve stability on Xbox Series X, which may be more important than adding EFB.
Must admit, I’ve never had BS or a CTD in cruise; and I’ve not heard anyone else report it either. That’s almost certainly symptomatic of a problem not related solely to the 737.
I bought the Jeppeson2001 Niagara scenery this morning but haven’t been able to try it out till this evening due to the server issues earlier. All I can say is… WOW!!! This has got to be the most beautiful piece of third-party scenery currently available for the sim! Great by day but by night this is another level! Covers an area far greater than just the city and the falls.
Few stutters when you first load up and fly around but they’ve subsided within a few minutes on every occasion so far. More importantly… no BS or crashes.
Had a flight from KPDX to CYLW, both Dev. airports and all was good. Smokey into CYLW as expected, but can’t imagine what the real folks are experiencing or those on Maui. Also, had one from CYEG to CYZF, wish I could help.
If nothing else, there are airports that we can fly from and into. Not sure what happened last night from St. John’s to LA; may be time flying, but who knows.
Incidentally, I too just attempted my longest ever flight (NZWN-YSSY) in the 737 and it black-screened/crashed about 2/3 of the way through, in the cruise over nothing but open ocean.
How many FSimStudios airports do you have, and what are they like, detail and performance-wise? They always look pretty bland and sterile in promo images (a bit like Pacsim and BMWorld/Amsim).
