I’m loaded in the PMDG 737 and fired up from cold and dark and have black screens. This simply is not going to work
the money I am wasting here is beyond belief. Please Asobo/MS could I personally ask you to fix this or can I leave

It’s the same thing with the widespread crazy slow download speeds, blame everyone else when the only people who can fix these problems work for MS/Asobo.
Those crumpled textures on that Fokker mean it had already black-screened.
FT I imagine will be keen to fix it. This and Corfu are the only ones of theirs that are problematic for Xbox, if the post-SU13 feedback re KLAS is reliable.
Makes the EHAM or KMSP decision easy anyway!
As long as people keep bying add-ons (myself included, although I only bought 1 Airport over the past couple of months) , airports in particular, the cash flow keeps intact. Even though there are quite some examples of working ones, I keep wondering what will happen when they notice a sudden decline in revenue from Xbox users.
Personally, I reached the point that I just boycott the Marketplace all together. Despite the efforts being made, despite the promises. I can’t see how or when MSFS 2020 will be fine on Xbox. My focus is entirely on MSFS 2024.
I’m in on Flightbeam’s KMSP but will not get to it till later or over the weekend. Will report back after a flight or two. May try GA first, then 737, 787, etc. Cheers folks!
Made a VFR flight from KPWK Chicago Executive which was just updated, to MSP in the new MU-2. Navigated old school, VOR to VOR, using landmarks in place of DME most of the way, then switched from Classic to Modern panel and went GPS direct the last 100 mi or so. Lots of fun spotting the lakes and then picking up the river on this route. Arrived in the terminal area just before sunset (not on live weather due to server down) and folks, Flightbeam delivered one beautiful airport in this light! The Garmin was stable all the way down till I quit the flight. The terminal looks great with lots of Delta at the gates with LVFR Airport Static Aircraft running. This weekend I will fly the Boeings into/out of, but if their KDEN is any indication, there should be no issues. The little I saw tonight, MSP looks even better than DEN so I am already delighted with my flight!
PWK worked fine huh? interesting , that airport and there KDPA gives me huge issues.
No PWK did not, which was disappointing after the update. But then again there were Xbox game server issues yesterday, so I didn’t want to assume anything negative on a day when live traffic was down and gamers were reporting issues. That said, the 414AW EFB & avionics did not load, so I departed in the TBM which suffered AP issues. Quit that then gave the new MU-2 a try with the classic panel/no screens. Voila off the ground and enroute VFR. This gave me another chance to sort out the MU-2, which I do like despite the many launch defects. It’s fast and fun for the $10 I paid for it on day one, and it may get fixed lol. Thanks for calling me out on PWK: I wanted to focus on MSP and not disparage any product on a day when MSFS servers are acting up, but if others find PWK problematic, then so be it, I rarely fly to/from it.
KMSP (Flightbeam) - KDTW (IniBuilds) flawless in the -700 with live weather on and Airport Static Aircraft installed. Will be flying for Delta more often! I swear Microsoft game server load has as much to do with sim performance as Xbox memory handling. And nothing beats flying in the smooth early morning air, IRL or MSFS. So sad about Schipol though, sounds like JFK on Xbox. Maybe someday in 2024?
I am hopeful that the EHAM issues yesterday were compounded by the server problems and dense server traffic in general. Seems FlyTampa have gone to previously unseen lengths to get the word of the Xbox release out so maybe thee sheer number of simmers had something to do with it?
Wishful thinking, perhaps, but you never know…
I got a refund yesterday. If I hear they’ve resolved the issues and can get EHAM as stable as Copenhagen, Boston, or even Athens, then I’ll gladly repurchase.
SU14 apparently includes further performance tweaks, although I do think the sheer size of EHAM is the primary issue here. besides, I imagine SU14 will simply address the increased stuttering we’ve seen lately. Hopefully it won’t re-introduce the stability problem!
I’m loading it back into the game and when complete in about 10 minutes, I will load in.
It’s a disgrace really
I tried for a refund but the greed of Microsoft denied me said refund
Absolute carnage EHAM. This will not work and the fact they released it and not tested it speaks volume of the state of the sim. I’m sick of wasting money and am seriously considering packing up and selling my kit.
This is precisely the reason I didn’t rush ahead and buy it on Thursday. Whether we like it or not, we must be careful on Xbox.
EHAM’s detail, while apparently ‘toned down to allow for better performance’ (that statement applies to PC too), is superior to that we’ve seen for other large airports such as Ini’s KLAX and EGLL. The fact is, when you make few real compromises with such huge airports — as we saw with Ini’s KJFK — only those with top-spec PCs can run them. Anyone on Xbox or a mid-range PC is stuffed!
EHAM currently seems a step too far for console. A shame when you consider the only thing we actually need is a memory increase.
XBOX USERS DO NOT BUY IT.
No aircraft on the sim will load in. Tried all aircraft and all CTD
I really am fed up with wasting my cash. I have put my kit now up for sale
I think we have to hold the devs accountable to some degree, too. They’re now fully aware of Xbox’s limitations yet seem intent on porting airports developed specifically for very high-end PC systems onto console, unchanged. I get that it’s a real headache basically going back to the drawing board to optimise for a lower-spec system but if they want that Xbox market share, that’s what they must do.
Some devs manage console optimisation very successfully so it is possible. Let’s also remember that those with mid-range (and even creeping into the upper range) PCs are also being left behind.
I still really enjoy simming on console but I understand that not everyone’s happy with having to be very selective with third-party content. In an ideal world we should be able to buy what we want and not have to worry about whether it’ll work properly… or at all!
I’m disappointed (but not surprised) that the refreshed Xbox doesn’t have a memory increase. I reckon just 4gb would improve our situation significantly, and I don’t buy that it would be a huge job getting it done.
Dreamliner flight between Flightbeam’s KDEN-KMSP was super smooth and the new MSP looks terrific, better than Denver, which is very nice indeed. These add-ons and others prove that it can be done, we can have nice scenery on xbox without suffering BS, CTDs, or stuttering. A seriously flawless flight with no impending doom to rush me along. Though I do think server load makes some difference overall, product choice seem to be getting less critical over time as we learn about those that are doomed to fail regardless. Thanks all for sharing and good flying this weekend!
