I’ve searched a little and can’t really see a direct answer - honestly it’s probably there but I don’t understand this side of the game too much.
Running Xbox X, stander Xbox controller. When trying to bind keys (ie do the workaround for the already bugger live time issue in Career by bundin Zulu Minutes), I cannot even change it.
I search Zulu, see the 4 options, but cannot select any of them to actually adding a bind.
This is after duplicating a control profile.
You should be able to select one of the black cells to the right of the command you want to bind. It should then say Scanning…. In the box. Then you just press the button(s) you want the command bound to.

I’ve tried activating cursor mode (does not work in that menu), and of course the pad. I can’t navigate to them 
Sorry. I don’t know anything else to suggest. I am on Xbox but I bought a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse along with a Velocity One FlightStick so never had to struggle with the controller.
Hopefully someone else can provide some guidance.

I’ve fixed my own ‘solution’ by just plugging in a USB mouse.
But it’s pretty bad for those who may not have one readily available.
Ironically, I found I had to actually connect a mouse to my xbox in order to select the right things to bind keys. Also to buy a Vision Jet.
