Of course in 13 days the dust will settle.
Of course the spin in the media will be that the launch was sooooo successful that the servers crashed, but in reality 100% of day one purchasers had a horrible experience.
Put differently, the server-client model has already revealed a flawed reliance on the cloud.
Beta tested 2020 for 4 years and now its time to alpha/beta test 2024 for 4 years until msfs2028 is released and rinse repeat. To be honest, it is a genius business model, I have to give them that.
But dont worry, even though vital aviation features like ATC, co-piloting and much more will be indefinitely postponed - msfs2028 will have ever higher pebble texture and higher polycount hippos.
I spent my time in queue writing a game review on Steam, so its not all bad
I am an ex-2020 user. A VERY long-time user of FSX. Even with 2020’s iinitial glitches, most of which weere fixed in those four years, the lack of an ATC even as usable as FSX finally did it for me.
I am hugely disappointed that, after four more years the ATC is (supposedly) still not as usable as FSX! I have not bought 2024 yet. I might. I might be satisfied for a while with strictly VFR flying but not for long. So far the Forum posts are not encouraging. I’ll keep checking back.
