I’ve tried running the game with only 2c4t, me and others have gotten varying degrees of crashes.
One person BSOD’d, for the other person the sim just crashed on load, and for another the sim wouldn’t even load at all.
You will definately want to look for a CPU upgrade.
Yeah I missed this. Does meet minimum and slightly below on gpu for recommended. This is what I thought. So still lost on why I can’t fly in the game. As soon as I click ready to fly he game crashes back to desktop. Very frustrating.
Hello,
don’t worry and save money for new HW. When in future you’ll have them, FS can be maybe in good (better) functionality condition as is and you’ll be very happy.
It is your videocard. I get the same message with a 965M 2GB Vram. I set it to low 1080p and it’s playable. Game does crash sometimes. Obviously it looks nothing like the pretty videos. Still looks better than FSX/Prepar3d. Very slow load times. I will have to wait for the Xbox version pretty much since I can’t afford a new PC right now. I am sorry to say but you and I are not going to have a great experience with this. This game needs a lot of horsepower. 5 Year old low end even when new videocards with not enough VRam aren’t going to work well.
Here’s an extensive discussion of hardware requirements.
Did you get it to run on your system, yet?
I have similar specs on my Lenovo Yoga 710 14". I don’t want to play MSFS with it, I just need it for building and testing a DIY Arduino panel. I also want to use the scenery editor. Usable frame rates with low settings are okay for this.
(I have time at work for this - sometimes more than at home as freshly baked father)
Never got past ready to fly button. Crashed each time. I just moved on. Will try it again if I ever upgrade my computer at some point.
Did you get it to run on your system, yet?< If you are asking me, no I haven’t. I’ve stopped spending (wasting) time on this until I’m ready to spend the time and money to upgrade to a new high-spec computer.
When I did a scan it gave me this message, but I can’t tell if I can trust that if I do this it will work!? it says I just need to update graphics driver and intel needs 4460?
That’s more detailed than I got. What site did you go to on that scan?
So, I downloaded it the day that it came out, and once it was finished (about an hour and a half later) it worked wonderfully, and multiple times. I flew with no issue for hours everytime I opened it. However then a few days later NO MATTER WHAT I DO, All I get is this type of ■■■■■■■ begining screen now, after it crashed the other day. I’ve tried ■■■■■■■ everything to get this game to work again, and get it just won’t ■■■■■■ work. I could really use any help you guys can offer, I’m all ears.
Heres my specs…

good evening, he also says to me I do not have the minimum requirements, then he starts loading (blue line) and in the middle of the bar he throws me out, please help me …

get a graphics card lol
HI All,
Sorry i know this is an old post but can anyone give me an idea if the PC i’m thinking of buying will be any good? It’s been 17 years since i last built a PC from scratch so it’s a bit rusty.
Processor: Intel i5-2400
RAM: 16GB
OS: Windows 10 Home
HDD: 1TB SATA
Graphics Card: 4GB GTX 1650
I stupidly speny £60 on the game without thinking how much it would cost to replace my rubbish all-in-one PC with something that would actually run it.
Many thanks,
Not sure the cpu is going to cut it
Thanks for your reply.
Would an i7-2600 be a better option?
any 2nd gen i5/7 processor won’t help you along. You’re talking about hardware released in 2011, which is on a 32nm process. It’s just too old. Raw GHz aren’t everything, you’ll need something more recent, with a better architecture.
I assume you’re on a budget. I suggest getting a Ryzen 3600 on a cheap-ish B450 motherboard. Isn’t expensive, and will get the job done.
I tried that test (Detect Hardware - PCGameBenchmark). System fails as I have no separate GPU only a an AMD Ryzen 5 3400G with its built in graphics. It suggests various GPU upgrades the slowest of which it says would be 40% faster.
Game does run OK with my 16GB ram but uses most of the RAM and gives 10FPS with medioum garphics with screen set to 720p.
So not amazing but very playable.
So this implies if I did upgrade to the minimum spec all I could expect as an improvement would be either to have higher graphics settings or 40% faster FPS, both nice but not actually necessary.
I wonder if some peoples problem is the lower spec GPU and Processor and only 8GB memory. I imagine that less memory is far more likely to cause a crash ( as opposed to poor performance) than low spec CPU and GPU.
You need both. I posted Guru3d’s analysis of FS performance.
Two things:
16GB is enough, the program will fit in and consume that RAM but not excessively to the point of OS performance impact.
The sim LOVES 8GB VRAM cards, Chews them up day and night.
I was the posted child for box minimum specs: Ryzen 3 2700 and 4GB RX570. Had low teens, high 20s with everything Low except for terrain textures. Moving up to an 8GB card got me mid-30s to high 40s, no change in graphics settings.
Get yourself a 4GB dedicated GPU. They are ridiculously cheap now with the influx of RTX30 and AMD6000 series pushing prices down market.
