Your current bandwidth is too low to stream photogrammetry data

Hi everyone! Been having some data problems the last few weeks that are getting quite annoying, saw that there were a few other posts but without any solution. Hoping that starting a new topic will help me!

When flying over photogrammetry areas I get the error quite often that my current bandwidth is too low to properly stream photogrammetry data, and as a result the textures and PG itself is very blurry. It’s almost as MSFS gives up on downloading new Bing data, and looking in the device manager it’s only using a few Mbit/s of internet. However, it doesn’t switch me to offline mode, and slowly but surely the textures come back. Almost like the data is getting throttled, which it should not do.

Haven’t really had this issue before, and wouldn’t expect it with a 650/50 Mbit/s unlimited internet. Every single time it pops up I have done a network speed test, and it indicates that it’s running at full speed.

What I have done so far is the following:
-Restarted my router (multiple times)
-Not using rolling cache, but cleared it anyway in the menu
-removed shaders
-Network speed tests
-turn the data on/off ingame and make sure bandwidth is set to unlimited.

I am running MSFS on quite a powerful PC using an AMD 7800X3D paired with a 4080 Super, running with 32Gb ddr5 and MSFS on an NVME-disc. Windows 11 is freshly reinstalled, perhaps some driver or setting is incorrect?

Anyone else had this issue and managed to solve it? I am sure it’s something on my end, but not sure where else to look…

Thanks!

I have had this issue as well, but imagine how bad this will get if Asobo/Microsoft doesn’t properly address this issue when MS2024 rolls out. MS2024 is almost totally dependent on streaming !!

Did you check if your game is making full use of your internet connection? Go to → options → general options → data → data bandwith usage limit → UNLIMITED. I had a similar problem a while ago until I found out that my bandwith was limited to 5mb! Switching to ‘unlimited’ fixed it for me!

This was my first thought aswell, but it’s set to unlimited in MSFS.

I get this error randomly but not very often, maybe once a month. It’s never a problem with my internet. Every time I see this error I do alt+tab and run a speed test or play 4K hdr video from YouTube.

Gotcha. I get it maybe every third flight. What‘s annoying is that it pauses the simulator, so if I am AFK while doing a longer flight it got nowhere…

I’ve read that 2024 lets us set a cache size and stuff only needs to be downloaded once.

As an aside that’s what browsers like Chrome do, to speed up web page loading (often using a date-time tag, only newer versions of images are downloaded for example).

I expect the caching will be quite different from 2020. There is talk of a force-download option, my guess is one can download local scenery before a flight.

DId you resolve it? I am also hoping that Microsoft has some good solutions for 2024.

Issue was solved by removing the DNS cache.

How did you do this?
