Your Current TOP 10 Aircraft (Part 2)

Thank you for pointing that out! I have edited that part.

  • You will still post your Top 10’s (…up to 10) here as usual.

  • On my back-end, each “user” now has their own card / record containing their current votes, but we also keep a history of their changes so we can do “stuff” with that data in future.

Absolutely love this! Using the tech to make things more streamlined (and hopefully saving you some time!), while still keeping the community component by having users post here and publishing the monthly results here, which I think is part of what makes this such a fun project. Thank you, Baracus! I’ll definitely be sending some coffee your way later today.

Indeed. But I think once she is fully updated for 2024, she’ll be back. I love the Kodiak too, but in 24, I always seem to have some issues.

That said, we can also take this as a sign about just how good all the other aircraft are getting. It really is a great time to be in flight sim.

February list (all planes MSFS 2024). Only ranking planes that I’ve flown since getting back into 2024, though I have a lot of planes in the hangar that are bangers which I know will get back in the list when I get back to them (e.g., Fenix A320, Wilga, etc.).

  1. PMDG 777-ER. End of day, she just works. Amazing fidelity and easy on the eyes. Only downside is due to her size it limits airports I can visit.

  2. FlightFX Citation X. Just picked this bad boy up, and though she is flawed (some bugs, and not BSQ level fidelity), just a rocket with great views out of the cockpit. Surprisingly chose this plane for my round the world trip I’m currently doing.

  3. Blacksquare Starship. Just amazing. This might be #1 if I had something like a RealSimGear Garmin 430 in my cockpit (hate the location of it in the plane). Just a sexy plane, fast and the fidelity is bonkers good. BSQ continues to be the best developer in the sim community IMHO.

  4. Taog OH6A - Hughes 500C. My first roto on the list (only one I’ve flown since being back). Impressive. Now in MSFS, rotos aren’t nearly as good as the ones in DCS (I own most of the legit DCS choppers and love them). But I really like this for my sight seeing tours and such. Solid and fun. Will be interesting to see if she holds her own over the other payware choppers I’ve yet to fly.

  5. Blacksquare TBM 850. Just another BSQ banger. Almost considered this for my round the world trip.

  6. PMDG 737-800. Felt good to get back to her. The Fenix A320 beat her in MSFS 2020, but have yet to get back into the Fenix so PMDG is here.

  7. BlackSquare Turbine Duke. Would be higher but not a fan of the cockpit view. Yes, saying it again. BSQ is legit.

So many more cockpits in my hanger to enter…Kodiak, Vision Jet, Comanche, DA-42, Fenix A320, Wilga, Cessna 414, BAe 146. Will happen eventually but only so much time!

The online database is great - thank you! Happily donated a coffee - a posh one but not quite a Pmdg brew.

(I’m presuming you can now easily include a user’s vote if we just post here during the month with “same as before” unless we want any changes)

Thank you very much!! :folded_hands:

Again I am greatly humbled, honestly guys it’s very nice of you all to do that. Really didn’t expect it!

Yes, in my system it now brings up the current votes for each person and I can resubmit the same or just change the ones that changed and apply it to the current month. It calculates everything else for me based on the submissions and dates

If anyone’s interested I could show you some screenshots of my tools! It’s really good!

@Baracus250 I’m pleased to announce that, due to a kind offer from EE, I am now the proud owner of a Quest 3S and have taken to the skies, Spitfire obviously, in VR.

Wow! I had no idea it would be THAT good but sorry, not sorry, 2020 looked far better than 2024 for me.

So after all that bluster and boastfulness, my list is the same as my last posting

This is my main panel now:

Submit a New Top 10

As example, this is AlmondfBoat’s latest entry and how each pilots ‘record’ now looks when I bring it up in future for any changes or resubmission:

Publishing

My system, as to keep the same ethos here of a monthly update “surprise” to see how it changed from previous month (I mean not “live” shuffling table), I have these February entries yet to publish:

And I can see what was already published or UN-PUBLISH them (if I need to) from here:

Aircraft List

All aircraft in the system. I can edit their names and other details (like adding Career Mode):

…and I can see who voted for any specific Aircraft and when:

Developers

Here I can edit and add new developers, and see how many mentioned aircraft they have:

…and what their current vote count is etc:

Users

Full list of current added Users:

…and I can see their Vote History and status:

…and if needed I can Delete or Un-publish the entry:

Analytics

The eagle-eyed amongst you will have seen the Analytics Dashboard button! I’m not going to show you everything yet (largely coz we need more historic data for it to make sense first) but I got a bunch of interesting options in here and more can be added

:red_question_mark: Important Question, Guys:

After making the screenshots of the Visitor Stats, I notice that not a lot of people are seeing or using the MONTHLY view (only 6 views). Maybe it is not obvious that you can go into the MENU button and switch to Monthly view (and actually for January as I mentioned in my original reveal post, it is the SAME as Yearly at the moment anyway), **but do I need to make an easier way to switch views? Did you know there was this?

EDIT: website updated with a visible toggle switch to change between YEAR / MONTH view. Year is default.**

Umm, if they’re the same, and you stated as such, and by Year was default, why would they switch to the other view?

Seems like only 6 is about right…

They’re the same this month as all data is new (January) but next month you’ll see the same as we have done in previous years with Monthly just showing changes based on people’s re-votes in that month (so that hot new releases get more visibility before they can climb the annual charts) and the Yearly being cumulative.

Not sure what you mean about “6”? Oh, 6 views. Yeah but it’s more now I made the “switch” more visible.
