Time for an update to my top 5.

  1. Flysimware Cessna 414AW Chancellor. - Still my number 1, fantastic sounds, steam gauges and great flight model.

  2. Milviz Cessna 310R - A close second and either 1 or 2 are swappable.

  3. Blacksquare Cessna Caravan 208B - Flying and enjoying this a lot, totally different to the default.

  4. Cessna Citation Longitude - Great for getting there in a hurry.

  5. Cessna 337 Skymaster - Great for sightseeing, twin engines that don’t block the view.

Hey all Cessnas, that must mean something.

Congrats on reaching 2000 posts! All the comments have been super useful on helping me decide what planes to fly and why, especially in a limited budget.

I stalk this community at least 3 times a week to hear updates and learn about what everyone flies

Oh, wow, I didn’t notice that! Thanks very much
It’s been a fun ride!!

:dancing_women: :tada:  :dancing_men:

Glad it’s helpful and useful for you. I’ll keep it going for as long as I can! I’ve found a good few planes to buy too so mission accomplished

You have really changed the functionality of the forum from a place to post questions and gripes to a place where we can interact and easily see where our preferences stand in relation to others. It is an amazing thread and I cannot thank you enough for the work that you put into it.

Right now it’s mostly the top 2 for me for me, in that order:

  1. PMDG 737-800
  2. FBW A32nx
  3. 787-10 Heavy division mod
  4. 747-8 Salty (very seldom, didn’t really dive in yet)
  5. Cessna 152 (default, I sometimes take it for sight seeing)

As soon the Anniversary update will come out this list might change and the A310 most likely will hop on No. 3. I have a feeling that the DC3 will also get quite some use by me…

Thanks for the response, friend. Just the info confirmation I was looking for. :v:

Hi - thanks for this. Any chance you can add 2 more? I need to have 5, because with my new system things get messed up if it’s not added in sets of 5  Thanks!

Ok, I updated the list and added some planes that I also use, even so barely…

Thanks guv! Added

By the way folks… just so you know… software mods are so 2020. Hardware mods is where it’s at now  :stuck_out_tongue:

Moved my Stream Deck out of the way of the screen (leaving room for a Tobii!) and stuck a cheap 360 controller on the yoke for external and drone camera easiness!!

I love that XBOX controller mod and have been meaning to do that for ages.

Recently bought a cheap HOTAS and have been flying a LOT on Xbox the last couple of weeks, too. 4K is quite an upgrade.

 I can’t believe how well it worked out. The curve at the bottom of the controller is like the perfect shape to leave me line of sight to the little clock in the Logi yoke!

And the SD down there feels like a centre console with perfect ergonomic reach with my right hand

Completely unrealistic layout I grant you, but works for me

Now, where am I gonna shove my MSFFB2 stick when that arrives!? I bought a desk clamp ā€˜drop holder’ gizmo but dunno if it’s gonna work yet or just get in my way!

I’ll make an update before we are flooded with the anniversary planes.

Old list:

  1. Lockheed L-1049 Super Constellation by Redwing Team
Such an unique plane and so well done, it is a lot of fun.
  2. Milviz C310
  3. FBW A320N
  4. BAE 146
  5. Discus 2c Premium

New List:

  1. Flysimware C414.
  2. Lockheed L-1049 Super Constellation.
  3. BlackSquare Analog King Air.
  4. BAE 146
  5. FBW A320NX

I’m crossing fingers the DC3 is good enough to enter the list!

Hiya. Thanks for the extra feedback

Honestly this plane is one of my faves at the moment. Maybe I should update my Top 5 haha. I’ve put a ton of hours in hand flying and really like it. I moved to a monitor with built in subwoofer and it’s a lot nicer audio now too. Though I do agree with @Mosquito616801 on the main thread that it sounds too ā€œwhimpyā€ — should be more meaty and clattery (not so smooth and weak) but of course that’s on Asobo. And I’m now basing my expectations on the one I flew in which was an old one!

It does sounds more like ā€œheadphones simulationā€ is on when it’s not.

Having some other minor issues with it but that’s on me (and my gear) no doubts! Nothing to stop me enjoying it but got a few mini workarounds I have to quickly do to fix the problems. And it is probably not only this plane but the way my system and HW reacts.

I don’t get enough sim time to justify buying many extra payware planes, so most of mine are default but with free mods.

  1. FBW A32X. Fantastic features, nice to hand fly, reguarly updated and FREE! Also its flexibility to fly a longer route but still get in and out some smaller fields.
  2. Salty 747. Lacks the sysem depth of FBW, but I find it a nice plane to handfly approaches in a heavy.and its a 747!
  3. The T-6 from the Reno package. One of my favourites to go sightseeing. Simple, stable, suited to low and slow or pushing the speed a bit faster than some GA planes.
  4. Cessna Longtitude. Nice sporty performance for a biz jet.
  5. XCub. Can be fun seeing just where you can land this thing and still takeoff again.

@N6722C thought I’d show you my Top 20 in Hobbs Hours (data generated by our App just now - link below if you want to try it!). So 1 more flight and she will be in 2nd place

Everyone is more than welcome to give it a spin!

EDIT: Just noticed it’s a shame that the WB-Sim aircraft name in the /SimObjects folder is the same as the default Asobo C172’s - means it lists it as Asobo in our app, so we can’t tell if it’s the enhanced one or not from this info :frowning:

Not sure but I think the developers could have renamed it similar to the way Black Square have done their default plane enhancements to make it unique. Oh well, most of those hours are not in the Stock plane. Maybe 2 in total
