Thanks, I’ve bookmarked your comment for the next time my credit card cools down too much.
…don’t let it cool too much or it might freeze ![]()
I did not get the ‘Tang yet. Thought my main reason for getting it was to have a ‘Yoke jet’ to go with the Vision ‘Stick jet’, then I thought why not just try these new CJ4 / Longitudes first. They are both yoke - and I already “paid” for those haha.
I have a Ferrari livery for the CJ4 so that’s nice. But they both feel kind of lifeless. I guess that’s how these heavier biz jets are. They are like Rolls Royces. Don’t knock the executives around! But I think the CJ4 is enough for me. It’s a Cessna Twin Jet with Yoke. Is the 510 massively different in “feel”?
I consider anything under visibly smoking to be cool. ![]()
I am back lol. Work interfered with my sim flying.
Flying the 737 600 out of Cape Town South Africa. I ordered myself the Thrustmaster Boeing controls and will get the 737 800 soon to start flying that. Hopefully i can compile a list again soon.
@EdamllamaB It just got released this week for the box. I only flew for two hours or so yesterday, but I really like it. Live weather was down yesterday, so I had clear skies, but tomorrow I’m gonna try her with some wind. The sounds are not really top of the notch at the moment, but Cockspur seems to do updates on it regularly and this might get fixed.
@Baracus250 This is my first bizjet, and I did not really fly the Asobo ones, so I can’t tell you how she feels compared to others. But the Mustang does not feel that lifeless, at least in my opinion. I got my co-pilot sitting beneath me, i got passengers in the back and in the medivac-version I even got a patient in the back. Chocks, covers, curtain and toilet, even a rolls-royce or an ambulance standing beneath the jet. Enough for me to make it feel alive.
Also like the Boeing yoke, hall sensors, has a hefty feel with adjustable tension. I also use it with the WB-Sim 172, but I have to say “heavy” after my call sign and request “push back” when leaving my parking spot. ![]()
Its great to see the Wilga come to marketplace for us Xbox simmers! I will be purchasing today.
I decided to take the 414 out of the hangar and give her a go flying around California (Oroville dam, lake tahoe, reno area…) Like always, such a joy to fly and a great feel when landing. I could do touch n go’s all day in this gal.
The Boris Audio Words Cessna 172 Sound Set is a very worthy upgrade. Its selling for just under $11 USD on Orbx.
I don’t fly the 172 all that often, but I was about to start a couple of MSFS’s Bush Trips that use this aircraft. I figured the sound set might make the trips a bit more interesting. Wow! So much better in too many ways to explain! I love the fact that even the wheel bearing hum is audible during takeout and landing rollout. I’m primarily a VR flyer (HP G2) and this sound set makes the overall experience even better.
If anyone is on the fence about this addon, I don’t think you’ll regret it.
Totally agree. You wouldn’t think it can make so much difference but it does! Feels like a complete product now. You got it cheaper than what I paid! Me and my lack of restraint, tut ![]()
Well, as any soldier on patrol would say, “Being the point man has it’s disadvantages!”
Edit: But thanks for your sacrifice and recommendation because it is a really nice sound set (pack) for the WB-Sim 172.
@Baracus250 sorry to go off-topic, I got the stuttering issue today, just out of the blue. A while back I recall you had the issue where framerates drop/stutters, and there was an in-game setting that fixed it for you. Do you recall what that was?
Oh man… for me it was the need to turn OFF vsync in the game, and use Vertical Sync setting on the NVCP Global Graphics Setting only, and limit frame rate there in the MSFS.exe settings (do you know what I mean?).
Don’t know why all of a sudden it was upset with it the way it was, because I have been running it that way for many months.
It might also be that you need to delete and recreate your rolling cache if you use that.
Let us know if you fix it or not and we can look deeper if need be.
The servers seem to be having issues today which might be a factor. I keep getting “Low Bandwidth, you have been taken offline” messages today.
Try to delete and recreate your rolling cache. Worked wonders for me.
Thanks a ton, I will try those things!
OK I did those things, I updated to Windows 11 and for a moment once that was done, everything was fixed! The menus worked, map scrolled nicely, nothing seemed amiss…until after about 2 minutes and then it all started again. I did the DISM and scannow, those turned up clean. My caches are delete (I even turned it off), rechecked nvidia settings to make sure that vsync and the other common settings are set. Now I’m reinstalling FS. One other thing is happening that’s concerning, my Device Manager is flashing, and under USB controllers I get one “Unknown USB Device” node. Not sure what that’s all about, but if it’s hardware related then I’ve just waasted several hours reinstalling my system and FS. I’ll persevere and try to see what’s happening.
Gosh. I never rush into big actions like that to be honest. Software can usually be fixed without such drastic solution. It could just be a bad server day. I’ve had a problem today where all of a sudden my flights would not load. Stuck on 100% blue bar. I loaded an empty (not quite empty - 80 items) profile and it worked but was working for all day before that with the other profile. Will see tomorrow!
I do also have 1 unrecognised USB device that it tells me about every windows boot. But everything is working fine so I just let it say it and go away ![]()
This software is a total mystery sometimes. Nightmare! Lucky we love her so much or she would have been dumped a long time ago lol
Have you got any other apps running in background? Or connected to MSFS? Like Volanta / Navigraph / FS Realistic?
Any mods? Tried with deleted (renamed) Community folder?
When the stutters happen, is it all the time or intermittent? How regular? What does Task Manager > Performance look like? Ram usage? GPU temps? CPU usage? Maybe install Open Hardware Monitor to have a better look at core temps.
And first try running in Dev Mode with the FPS popup open to see if there are any clues.
haha no worries at all - I spent a few hours in her today. Absolutely love it!
Plays so nice with all my gear and those new sounds make the hours a real pleasure.
It’s that wheel rolling sound that does it for me! Can’t think if ANY other aircraft have that? Certainly not as noticeable / exciting as this.
RANDOM QUESTION ABOUT THE C414 MIXTURE:
I noticed today that my Mixture lever is not making the one in the cockpit move (Logitech quadrant). Was it always this way? I mean, should mixture on the 414 work? I read that as it’s turboprop it won’t, but the markings on the cockpit don’t just have 3 zones like other TP’s - it looks like full % range lever and hovering the mouse also shows a % but I can’t drag it either. It stays at like 96.2%. And even if it was, my quadrant makes TP aircraft red levers move to low idle / cut off without needing a special config / binding.
I can’t remember if I used to be able to move it but I am sure I did (as I was tweaking it for fuel burn efficiency) so I think I have a control conflict ONLY in the 414?! But I read on a topic about it that you should not change it as turbo regulates itself unless you are over 20k ft.
It could be since I added the physical controls for fuel tank selector, which on planes where that binding is wrong DOES override the mixture lever position for some weird reason. But even if I use a default profile with no tank selection on controls in the 414, the mixture does not work.
For sure, I was cursing myself for a lazy techie Hail Mary of system upgrade and reinstalling FS, I mean I know better than that. I also flashed my BIOS. I don’t know what to do, but something in the hardware area of my machine is messed up, as long as Device Manager is blinking I can’t be sure my system is 100% fine. So I’ve been pursuing that, once FS is finished installing I’ll give it another whack. Thanks for the suggestions, hopefully I’ll be able to tweak my way back to good!
The stutters are all the time. It’s a fairly regular interval, like every second. I even tried changing planes and moving to less intensive locations. I did try renaming the Community folder earlier, I took basically all of the fundamental troubleshooting steps you’d think of, and then some more drastic measures (upgrading to Windows 11 was ill advised to be sure, as what a pain). I’ll pop open Task Manager next time, perhaps I’ll enable Dev Mode too. I’m not sure if Navigraph was running, fairly sure it wasn’t. Well, I guess stuff like this comes with the territory. At least in simulation, only your computer dies!
