Your Current TOP 10 Aircraft

17 out of 48 rated it last month, a solid third of users. Guessing they still fly it, or maybe that’s nostalgia.

Yea it definitely did some solid closing of the gap last month. But you’ll have to wait 2 more Sundays to see what it is now heheheh

Never seen the fascination with it, myself. Don’t buy stuff just because it’s cheap and other people like it, you do have to actually want it yourself or it’ll just be slightly less regret than if you bought it full price :stuck_out_tongue: I got the SWS RV-14 ages ago & didn’t like it at all, that plus many tales of twitchy handling makes me rather suspicious. Mind you when the sdk recommends using a stabilityt parameter to simulate inertia then everyone’s already starting out in negatives…

The 6 engined MS flying boat is actually rather nice, if only I could work out what to do with engines 5 and 6…

I also had no interest in the Kodiak as I already have plenty of props.

But I recently gave in. It’s hard to say exactly what makes it so good apart from it just does every area so well. Very solid and a top ten aircraft for just €15

It’s the sounds for me. That electric saw a lot of people seem to dislike is music to my ears.

I came to the conclusion that sounds have a big factor in rating an aircraft for me personally.

Notice how the top GA in the rankings also have good sounds: C414, C310, PC-6 (Milviz) etc.

Now if only blacksquare and JustFlight can manage to add custom engine sounds to the fantastic Baron and Bonanza!

Not enough engines for me! between the Islander ( I have 80% of a new fm in mine now so I can’t put that on a list ) and the BSQ king air I have small airliners covered.

Can we have a really good Twin Otter now there’s a hole in the market again?

Agree. Also have the islander & blacksquare king air which are also both top ten aircraft and also the reason I didn’t consider the Kodiak

But you are getting a completely different and very complete aircraft for the price of a couple of Starbucks right now

You’re already thinking about it as you’ve already commented on it, that puts you one step away from a purchase, I personally promise you will not be disappointed.

Yes, full WT supported. Better flight model and engine logic with the last update. I bought it day one, flown it many hours then went to other planes and skipped 2 or 3 updates until the last one. It has well simultated engine wear (they’ve worked on it for quite some times) although there is no way to check on it unless you edit the states files where everything is easy to see and understand. If you blow the engine you will start the next flight with a new one, so no worries  It can take of and land in less than 700 ft at sea level with quite a load in it. Is enjoyable to fly and have good behavior on TO and landing. I only wish they find a way to work around the Asobo limitation of the inertial bypass which takes way to much power from the engine when the real engine looses only around 50 ft lbs of torque. Better not using it on very tricky take off since it is more close to the real aircraft performance than the significative loss of power (due to Asobo limitation) when enabled. Very good addon if you like this kind of airplane. At half price it’s a no brainer.

It’d sit in the hangar ( I’d have got the blacksquare Caravan by now otherwise ) - it’s got a glass cockpit & a single engine, I just don’t fly 'em. If it was a Do228…

My entire future list (and wallet, and future with wifey) is dependent on Friday’s Expo keynotes

Totally agree. It’s at least 35% of the equation for me, maybe more.

I’m still >this< close to buying the Boris Cirrus SR-22 sound pack even though I don’t have much interest in that plane just coz I think it will be epic. If it was on the current sale I would, but sadly it’s excluded.

This is my first post on this topic. My list is short because I like to fly only few aircraft:

1- Blackbird = C310R
2- Ant’s Airplanes = DH.82 Tiger Moth
3- Milvitz / MS = DHC.2 Beaver

That’s all.

Yes.at that price it is a steal. And if you get the float version, too, the Kodiak becomes one of the most versatile plane available in sim.

Well worth a buy.

How is this gal? Heard great things. Been debating buying it but have not pulled the trigger yet.

I have so many planes in my hangar I don’t fly (not enough time in a day) I don’t want to add another.

Best biplane in the sim. Fully featured. Excellent options on the included tablet (including AP).

It is one of those planes that really nails the feel.

It has been in my top ten since I bought it, and it has never been a hangar queen (although it has sent other biplanes to my hangar).

I’ve flown quite a few of the bi planes and the Tiger Moth is the best I’ve flown. It’s in my top 10.
But……if you haven’t tried the Fokker dr.1 (Red Barons plane), give it a try, it’s free from Got Friends.
Great fun, costs nothing so hanger it when you’re done.
The Tiger Moth is a long term keeper though.
