I think it will be 1-10 for me too when it’s released: a2a comanche^^

Just going to copy + paste something I wrote a few posts ago

I’m super stoked for it too but no release will ever replace all planes I use in my ā€œrotationā€. There’s just too many different experiences to be had that a single aircraft type can’t possibly deliver it all.

Unless it’s a MkIX Spitfire dressed in either MK356 (BBMF) or MH434 (Ray Hannah) Liveries  :joy:

Can it hover? No! Nuff said

Yes… briefly, before plummeting. A bit like an F-35

Yea there is that. Though that’s just the F-35 running out of fuel after 34 seconds of hovering. That thing is thirsty when it’s doing that trick!

Xbox simmer, Marketplace only.

  1. PMDG 737 - since AAU2/Texas City Update or whatever, it’s not running as well as it did on release, there’s still no liveries available (I didn’t realize this was a big deal until I realized this was a big deal) and the AIRAC cycle is out of date (I didn’t realize this was a big deal until I realized this was a big deal). All of that notwithstanding, this thing is a triumph on Xbox and scratches pretty much every immersive airliner itch anyone could ever have. It’s as realistic as you want it to be, runs better on Xbox than it has any right to, and the care and thought put into this product is evident every time you fly it. It’s an experience!

  2. Carenado 182RG - MSFS2020 is my first flight simulator so this brought me no FSX nostalgia (is that what it was in before?) like it might for others. I have had so much fun flying this, I almost totally ignore the Premium Deluxe Cessna 172 Classic now, which makes me sad, because I so much looked forward to flying that plane. But why ever get into that when you can get into a retractable gear, electronic trim Cessna with sweet vintage liveries, a killer flight model, the ability to translate your cockpit view outside the cockpit for some sick views, good static elements on the ground, the list goes on and on. Garmin 530, a robust autopilot, no DME (to make the easy stuff tricky) and great engine sounds too. Took this thing out tonight to see the fireworks and it’s what inspired me to respond again to this thread (first time responding since PMDG dropped - I almost want to rank this one higher but I can’t do it). Every little story you want to tell in this plane is emblematic of the majority of us who want to spring for a little GA bug smasher but can’t bring ourselves to do it. Best thing Carenado has ever dropped IMO, and I like a lot of their stuff.

  3. Wilga - I like flying little campout missions with the //42 Campout Utility and nothing makes you feel cooler than putting out the fire, loading the dog in the back and hopping up into this big sturdy handsome Polish thing. Views are great, startup is a rush and it’s a joy to trim out and fly with the Turtle Beach flight stick. I love acting like I own this plane.

  4. PMDG DC-6 - I can’t wait for some cool liveries for this plane too! I’ve learned to fly this thing using no AFE and now I can’t bring myself to ever use it, even though i’m watching the engine monitor page of the EFB like a hawk in order to get climb and cruise power dialed in the way it needs to be. Starting this thing up acting like the other two guys didn’t show up to work today is stressful and satisfying, and as soon as I got all my equipment dialed in for this plane just the way I wanted, it’s been one I’ve come back to over and over again when I have a solid 2 hours to put some real thought into a flight. Almost done reading Fate is the Hunter and I’m working my way up to recreate their Army flight from Goose Bay Canada to ā€œBluie West Oneā€ airfield in Greenland. In the book, they started spotting the Greenland topography at dawn, and I wanna shoot in at just that right time. Haven’t even scouted the airfield yet, dunno if it’s modeled well or not, I just know that it’s a mission for the PMDG DC-6. Wobbly gauges and all. I love this plane.

  5. Vision Jet. Runs like hell now, otherwise it’d be number 3 or 4. The tech is great, the stories you can tell with this plane are great, avionics are up to snuff now with their AAU1 Garmin support, and some tricky Navigraph tricks with the simlink moving maps and (decent) EFB. Get up in the air in no time at all and have a fun time managing your speed on descent. Autothrottle if you’re feeling lazy, robust checklists and well-modeled cabin, cockpit etc. Love the Bose element, the tarmac statics and the working doors. Plays nice with native MSFS lighting mappings. Honeycomb Bravo to my right with all axes blocked off except the throttle. Turtle Beach stick to my right for flight controls and camera tricks. Set this flight up in 5 minutes and get in the air. Pretty cool - wish it ran better lately. Xbox crashes using this plane more than any others I’ve mentioned on the list so far, and I hope it gets better!

  6. HondaJet. Halfway through the list and getting lazy here, but just copy all the Vision Jet SF50 stuff and paste it here but add a second engine. Faster and higher, let’s go

  7. Beechcraft Model 18 ā€œTwin Beechā€ - I’m going to master a perfect takeoff and landing with this plane one day. Haven’t actually flown it in a long time. I gotta take her out again soon.

I’ll round out the Top Ten with a couple of honorable mentions, but grain of salt here - you write down seven different other aircraft and think about all the time it takes to learn and fall in love with these things, and balance everything else in life, and I have no idea how some people have the time to take these things up in the air and get to know em better. PM me and let me know how you do it :joy:

  1. Kodiak 100 - you can do anything anywhere anytime and feel like a master at it

  2. 787 Dreamliner/747 - been really impressed with the enhancements, even though I got Premium Deluxe after AAU2 and never saw it in its previous state. Flew the 747 a few times doing Landing Challenges etc but waited for the update to really test these out. Did two full flights with each. Fun to play with the Dreamliner’s technology and fun to feel like you’re on a 4th story terrance in that 747 cockpit, but if I’m feeling like taking out a Boeing, I’m probably in the PMDG 737.

  3. Antonov AN-2 - there’s a Mountain Goats song that talks about a Cuban plane, flying from Havana, up the Florida coast to the 'Glades, Soviet-Made, and I heard that, and I remembered I grabbed the AN-2 when it was released but never bothered to learn it outside my first pattern because it was a goofy lookin biplane and I’m not some weird circus wing-walker and I didn’t really get the charm until I heard that lyric in that song and started looking into all the practical application and real-world missions this plane is still flying. I tried to take it form Havana up the Florida coast to the 'Glades and couldn’t figure out at all what the compass was telling me so I tried to learn that silly Soviet cockpit a little better and I aim to make that flight soon. Just been practicing the flight model with some touch and goes but I’d like to master the startup procedures and autopilot functionality of this aircraft because it does feel like some real thought went into this airplane and it feels like it deserves more of my attention, even if it’s not what I normally would fly, or get excited by.

Thanks for the update

…unless I am mis-reading something, there is no change except the order (which doesn’t matter for the voting). Right?

A questions about your list. Which 737 variant?

Did you forget to post again? It was your idea to add that note on my post :stuck_out_tongue:

  1. ATR 600 Series - First addon I bought comming back to flight simulation, still the one I enjoy the most flying. Unfortunatly Aviatife doesn“t provide enough jobs for it in my current stage.
  2. C414AW - The plane I fligh the most. Lands everywhere, systems very well simulated. And great flight model.
  3. Cirrus SF50 - Great plane to fly short and medium distance flights. I usually fly C414 but I fly SF50 when I can’t monitor the flight all the way. I’ve landed on some grass and dirt rwys without problem. Great plane, but it’s so easy to fly that I get tired of it easly.
  4. PMDG 737-800 - I’ve just acquired it. It’s very well simulated and to tedious to prepare for flight. I still donĀ“t have all procedures memorized so I tend to fly it less. I bought it to fly ICAO 25th Aniversary Tours, because the planes I have canĀ“t do it.

This is really tough. I’ve added a lot to my hanger since the last list, which is part of the reason it took so long to do. The Spring sale happened, and I had to give myself time to give everything a decent run.

The new list, in no particular order:

FSW Cessna 414AW - this is a really nice aircraft. It is possibly my favourite in the sim.

Carenado Piper Archer II - a great plane to fly around in. It has nice big clear analogue gauges. It has become a fast favourite.

Carenado Cessna 195 - a good choice for VOR flights. It has a radial engine too! I like the look of the thing.

SWS RV-10 - I just got this, so I might just be infatuation. Everything seems to work, more or less, and it’s fast, smooth and stylish.

FI Hellcat - I love this bird. I love the thump of the double wasp radial. It’s very satisfying.

DHC-2 Beaver - this is my in-real-life favourite. I’m so glad there are still Beavers flying around. My family helped build them, and the parts for them are still made in the city I live in.

Carenado C-170B - a simple classic. I really enjoy flying this one.

M-346 Master - still my favourite military jet.

DHC-4 Caribou - there’s something satisfying about landing and taking off from tiny rough airstrips with this huge aeroplane.

FI Spitfire - the Spitfire tries to kill me regularly, but it’s a joy to fly when I survive take off. I always feel like I’ve accomplished something if I can take off and land it without incident.

Hjet - I don’t fly it much, but I really admire the work the developer put into the aircraft. It stays on the list because it deserves to be a highly rated aircraft. There is so much packed into the systems on this aircraft.

The old list:

  1. Flying Iron Hellcat. I’ve been flying this a lot lately. This is a similar experience to the Spitfire, but a little easier. Great fun! It’s a plane that I’ve always had a thing for too. I love the big radial-engined fighters from World War II. We need a P-47, a Zero and a FW-190 (I hear that’s on the way) too. Anyway, this aircraft has great sounds, great handling and versatility too. I can take off and land from carriers, grass strips or international airports. It’s a great aircraft!
  2. IndiaFoxTecho M-346. This trainer is a lot of fun, and I really enjoy flying it. It has great visibility and looks good too. Like all IndiaFoxTecho aircraft, it has been continuously updated as well.
  3. Flying Iron Spitfire. I haven’t got the update yet (on Xbox), but it’s very satisfying to fly. If I can take off and land it without mishap, I feel like I’ve accomplished something. That makes the experience satisfying.
  4. Blackbird Beaver. This is my favourite real life airplane. This version lets me live the dream.
  5. FlightFX Hjet. I really like this business jet. This is as close to an airliner as I get. I usually fly VFR in a very uncomplicated way with most of my aircraft, but this jet pushes my boundaries. I admit, I’m not very good with instrument flying, but I attempt it with this plane. The developer works ceaselessly to improve and perfect it. It gets my vote for a top 5 aircraft.
  6. Carenado PA-34 Piper Seneca. This was my first third party aircraft, and it feels like home when I fly it.
  7. Carenado Staggerwing - It’s a lovely aircraft. It’s simple, but fast and fun to fly.
  8. IndiaFoxTecho F-35. You get 3 decent aircraft in one package. It’s recently had an update which really expands the features, and I appreciate that.
  9. Carenado C-170B. I use this when I want a short uncomplicated flight. This is another aircraft I’d love to own in real life. It’s a decent bush plane too.
  10. Inibuilds P-40F. It’s a little more forgiving than the Flying Iron birds, but it’s still a lot of fun to fly.

  1. BlackSquare Beechcraft King air 350 - Those beautiful Steam Guages,The damage model, real time faliures, flying without a gps, just the electrical systems of this baby are complex enough if one decides to study them. Its a fun little aircraft to fly vor/ndb. Also has real life vor/ndb disturbance as you fly over terrain etc.

  2. BlackSquare Steam guage cessna Caravan - Another fun steam guage aircraft,no gps.

  3. Atr 72/42 - Fast turboprop, fun to fly regional routes in mountains, islands etc especially minicking real loads on short air strips, having to fly with a payload/fuel penalty and failures enabled.Somewhat computerized as in GPS but fun.
