Your Current TOP 10 Aircraft

Thanks for the update and I appreciate the little texts describing your reasons.

MilViz Cessna 310 absolutely rocking it this week! Average score so far is 4.13 with 8 votes. Beating previous best of the Wing42 Boeing 247D (4.00 average) by a little margin.

Probably won’t get the 310 since I already have a bunch of twins already and with the 414
Although I am sure its amazing.

Update to my list as well.

  1. Got Friends Discus 2c. When I really want to experience the joy of flight, nothing even comes close.
  2. Big Radials Goose. Pure fun and the stability you would expect of a stately classic aircraft.
  3. FSW C414. Great now and still getting better.
  4. The Asobo C172 G1000. I have been very surprised at how good this feels now and find myself flying it frequently.
  5. Blackbox Simulations TrIslander. Instant favorite that I am sure will climb the charts as time goes on. This one flies and feels great.

Agreed, and the “little brother” Islander! I’ve sent a ticket in at Walker Air Transport (VA) to see if we can get the Trislander added to the fleet there.

It’ll be interesting to see where statistics go with this huge dump of new aircraft into the Xbox-verse.

I am probably going to pick this up soon as well along with the 310. It’s such a quirky plane and I don’t really have anything to fill this role yet. So many great aircraft released in the past couple weeks.

The Sunday Runway Show is Live and On Air again. Sorry for the slight delay in our scheduled programming

And this weeks Top 10 below:

The top 10 is interesting. Shows the mighty rise of the MilViz Cessna 310B this week. It has had the strongest start I’ve seen so far, straight into the Top 25! A lot of people threw it straight to the top of their lists with a 4.13 average score.

Some movement at the top now. But Kodiak has stretched out more of a lead again ahead of the Arrows.

Goose had a good week too and is catching the podium positions!

I’ve added a row for total participants and total planes at the top and some more stats at the bottom of the main chart PDF download (didn’t put it all at the top as it takes a fair bit of space).

Here is the full PDF download: Dropbox - MSFS Aircraft Ranking 12.pdf - Simplify your life

That Kodiak just keeps hanging on in there. Only 2 more to make 100 in the list, PMDG 737 still to go but I see the Fenix A320 is already in there. I wonder if there should be a rule it has to be publicly available to be allowed in the list? Fenix doesn’t even have a release date yet

There is 102 with points now already. I guess I should delete the Fenyx, so that’s 101

I stand by what i said the other day. Watch the 414 take the top spot, especially with the incoming sound overhaul in next beta.

It might not hang there for too long though, hence we got Christmas in May incoming next week (737 and possibly Fenix A320).

Hopefully the Fenix is back in there properly soon, not that it’s any use to those of us on xbox.

Well,my top 5:

JustFlight PA-28-161 Warrior II
JustFlight PA-28R Arrow III/Turbo Arrow
Carenado C337 SKYMASTER
Carenado PA44 SEMINOLE
Carenado C170B

and the MilViz Cessna 310B of course.

nahh, don’t be so nitpicking :innocent:

Edit: ok,scratch the carenado C170B

Side note: Wow the pressure on PMDG. Everyone is expecting the 737 to gain the top spot but man, those expectations are huge and if they don’t deliver perfection out of the gate, look out! I also wonder if the price point will keep the user numbers small enough to keep other modules like the Kodiak still competitive on this list just with sheer numbers. Should be fun to watch and as always B.A., you have done a great job with this!

Yea, with the 737 I expect people that buy it will score it high but numbers overall won’t be enough to hit the top 3 or even top 5 here. Will be fun to see as you say!

Thank you for that

Interesting to look at the data that makes up the “Hottest 10 Aircraft” chart.

My takeaway on the C414 and the Boeing 247D is that the “bloom is off the rose.” Why?

The C414, while good, is not great. I personally enjoy it quite a bit, but I think the rapid release of both updates and hotfixes has hurt the model overall. In particular, the flight dynamics and engine modelling have both degraded from the initial releases. I am currently reverted to 1.6.2 and will wait to hear reports of the next upgrade before jumping off again.

The Boeing 247D is simply too fiddly for many people. Again, I personally enjoy fiddling with accurate systems modeling. To date I think the DC-6 by PMDG has done the best job in that regard. The 247D is very difficult to actually fly without proper control bindings. I haven’t tried it in VR yet (that might help) but so far I’ve limited my flights to local excursions. Clearly, this is not everyone’s cup of tea.

I am a little surprised that the excellent RV-14 and 14-A haven’t gotten more love. The model is priced at a very affordable level, and is beautifully done. It is fast and agile, and lands easily. Maybe just a bit too much of a niche model?

As always, great job @Baracus250 - thanks so much for the effort and for starting this great thread.

Me too. It’s a great fun plane and feels very nice to fly. But I don’t think it’s in my top 5 still

I agree. I also enjoy fiddling with accurate systems modeling. But that’s the rub, if the modeling doesn’t work accurately, the enjoyment falls off rapidly. Hopefully the 247 will get some improvements and correct the issues that hold it back from where it could be.
