mmm yea. I was reading a couple threads. The install alone may take 18 months…
Hey!
Been away for a week.
Have I missed anything?
Seriously, you haven’t heard the news? Forum has been on fire and it’s been all over the media…new aircraft from Captain Sim AND a livery pack.

Well, what a rollercoaster ride the 2024 launch has turned out to be… I’m very thankful to FBW and Just Flight for releasing their A380 and Avro RJ respectively just in time, because those two planes made me realise that I could easily defer spending close to $200 on the Premium Deluxe version of the new sim, stick with the free base level of 2024 via PC GamePass, keep playing in 2020 for another three months or so, and still have lots of fun.
Mind you, now that the new sim seems to be largely working as expected, and both looks and performs great, it is very nice to fly in it. Axis & Ohs is functioning, Burning Blue and NZA have already issued free upgrades for some airports, and there are enough new planes in the base version to keep me interested.
So at the moment it will be VFR in 2024 and airliner routes (including some upcoming long-haul) in 2020.
Eventually, once the Marketplace works, I will probably just buy two or three Deluxe/Premium aircraft. Seastar, Norden, Globemaster look good. Rather disappointed that the Saab, the SkyCourier and the Pilatus 24 all seem to be not what we expected.
Some highlights so far in the new sim have been the AirTractor and the VisionJet (which I never got to experience in 2020 but already love now). Have high hopes for the A400, which I will try next.
Enough ruminating, here is the monthly list. Still heavily 2020-biased because of the reasons outlined above, and quite different from the all-time greats review I did last month.

Now back to figuring out 2024 controller bindings LOL!
We are still in November voting though mate. Please check you post from 15 days ago and see if that still stands for November? Your Current TOP 10 Aircraft - #8562 by Nikita
Apologies, leave the earlier post for November and I will circle back in December.
Yes, I have hand-jammed all of my yoke bindings directly in exactly as they were in FS2020, but the results certainly aren’t the same - expecially the way the hat-switch views behave. For example, I used to be able to kind of toggle through the various cockpit views with the right and left views. Not anymore. Those views all seem to have disappeared. I hope it is not just me!
Has it been only one week since MSFS2024 was released? Except for the server issues on the first day, the new sim has worked really well for me. I don’t regret deleting MSFS2020 at all.
I don’t have a full Top 10 list for MSFS2024 yet, but there are already some favorites. Please note that at the moment I mainly start with the engines running on the runway/helipad. My current focus is on hand flying, not on systems.
- Asobo Cabri G2
- Carenado R66
- HPG H225
- GotFriends Zlin Norden
- GotFriends Draco X
Given the Fenix is working in FS24 my top 10 for that simulator would be the same as my last one for FS20. ![]()
You know, unless I am mistaken, you have 1 slot free still. You have done for a while coz I did say we count the A319 + A321 as a single thing (same purchase) but you still have them listed out twice. So you could add one more if you want? Your Current TOP 10 Aircraft - #8029 by RagingWombat839
My final FS2020 list!
Ok, I dropped The Tuke, but it’s still par with The Puke.
New chopper on a list - HPG H145, lots of new things to learn with it’s AFCS. Also bought H160.
Taog’s Alouette III was near to have a place in a list, it’s great chopper, but it needs badly failure modeling! Now you just can pull full collective and fly overspeed and it just go on and on and on. Only turbine temp needle goes to red, but nothing happens…
- Black Square Daher TBM 850
- Black Square Beechcraft B60 Duke (Piston)
- HPG H145
- Taog’s Hangar SA315B Lama
- Taog’s Hangar UH-1H Huey / Bell 205
- SimWorks Studio Quest Kodiak 100 (Kodiak and Flotiak)
- Asobo / Blackbird DHC-2 Beaver
- Got Friends PZL-104 Wilga 35/80 (mostly 80P and 80X variants)
- A2A Simulations Piper Comanche 250
- Bagolu’s Reims FR172 Reims Rocket / Cessna R172 Hawk XP II (and all the other Bagolu’s C172 mods)
**
If I had to choose only 10 aircraft to keep in MSFS 2020, list is a bit different. One tube, few choppers and rest are more or less GA and backcountry planes:
- Black Square Daher TBM 850
- Black Square Beechcraft B60 Duke (Piston)
- Just Flight 146 Professional*
- HPG H145
- Taog’s Hangar SA315B Lama
- SimWorks Studio Quest Kodiak 100 (Kodiak and Flotiak)
- Asobo / Blackbird DHC-2 Beaver
- Got Friends PZL-104 Wilga 35/80 (mostly 80P and 80X variants)
- A2A Simulations Piper Comanche 250
- Milviz/Blackbird PC-6 Porter
*I bought 146 months ago, but I haven’t really start to learn it…
Yep, off to a fresh start!
OK so question to everyone. Should I classify the official aircraft that are in the Deluxe or Premium Deluxe as PAYWARE or FREE?
In the past, those that are in the higher tiers were still tagged as “F” in the table (blue cell) so I think I should continue that - as they are not TRADITIONAL Payware as such. Famous Flyers and Local Legends are "P"ayware though and I will do that in future too.
What do you think? Maybe I should make a 3rd ‘category’ in the column. Like “U” for Upgrade and apply that to all the 2020 and new 2024 Deluxe / Premium Deluxe items?
For me it’s clearly payware.
I think as many of the new aircraft in top tiers are from 3P developers they are more like payware than not…
Since MS announced single aircraft from Deluxe and Premium should be available to buy for customers of the Standard edition these should be counted as payware now.
