And how are you getting on with the PC now?
I see you have the Just Flight 146… I’m jealous.
Highly recommend the BBS Trislander if you want something a bit lower and slower and meticulously implemented… the sounds alone are worth the asking price!
Agree on the Trislander, I am really enjoying getting to know this bird.
I googled overspeed warnings for the real life Honda Jet and learned that there is in fact an audible ditter with ‘MAXSPD’ displayed on the ‘PFD’ before there is any overspeeding.
Apparently, the autopilot also pulls the nose up to reduce speed below the red line. Granted that this was for the Honda Jet Elite and not the Honda Jet and described a situation when there was an overspeed situation when autopilot was engaged.
It shows however that in the Elite version at least Honda provided some safety measures to prevent a pilot overspeeding. Given Honda’s excellent safety reputation I still find it difficult to believe that there would not be adequate safety measures to prevent overspeeding in the non elite Honda Jet ![]()
To the OP: I will leave this one here since I am in danger of derailing this great thread and that is the last thing I wish to do. Apologies ![]()
Absolutely no need to apologise! It’s all interesting stuff and happy if talking about new releases sparks extra conversation!
In other news, I did grab the S4
Currently flying around Switzerland. Only done 20 mins so far but am liking it a lot. Gonna try land then check out the tablet. Had a little look at it whilst flying and it says my strobe light has had 500 hours and damaged already lol. Did I buy a second hand plane?!? ![]()
Next on my shopping list is Trislander I believe. Need to sort out my hard disk space first arghhh
Cheers ![]()
I have FSRealistic Pro now too. Thanks. I will try it out ![]()
Yes, what you say is very true. The MSFS stress damage model is definitely in need of fine tuning. I accept that. I have noticed this in particular with the BN2 Trislander where I do actually have to disable aircraft stress damage. It might well be that my issues with the HJet are really down to the sim’s handling of stress damage. It’s certainly a possibility.
I’m sorry but the last few days I had to visit the neighbor’s beautiful daughter mainly because of the bad FPS.
In this respect, leave it out of the rating.

I’m not gonna start doing other sims now hahah

The trick with the S4 is good energy management.
The POH recommends downwind with a stage of flaps (which limits you to 75 knots) for good reason. It is light weight and very slippery so washing off excess speed is tricky. Coming in on final at 55 knots by the POH and crossing the numbers at more like 45 knots can see an almost STOL like landing. On the other hand, if you let the speed get out of hand it is hard to recover and you may have to go around, as just like the real one, it floats forever when too fast.

I had that in mind on my first landing having read similar a few times on the S4 thread. My first landing was pretty perfect. Second not so much. I tried even slower final, went a touch too slow and dropped from stall just before the threshold, whoops. I was also too low so at least that helped as I didn’t have far to fall down, and still landed “wings level”, just very hard! Only did those 2 short flights but yes it’s very well made!
Good thank you. With all the other mods and the quality of the aircraft available, it’s just so much more comprehensive, and makes for a far more immersive, satisfying experience, in my view. I like the Series X but I now believe that if you’re massively serious about simming, and want the complete experience, you need a PC.
Built a PC last week, sold the Series X
Good choice! Welcome to the Deep Side, my Padawan

Caproni-Vizzola C-22J Ventura
I really can’t separate the Hawk from the Kodiak for my #1 slot, I would say I have about equal time in both. I fly quite a bit of FSE and have the Hawk aliased to the L-39 to give me a good use for it. The Kodiak is entirely used in FSE as well.
The Big radials Goose was a must buy for me, I’m of an age to remember the tv show Tales of the Gold Monkey, I loved the Goose in that. I flew it in FSX frequently so punching in the hours in MSFS was always going to happen, I just wish the GPS was a bit easier to see in VR.
I’ve had a couple of flights/ lessons in the C-172 from a local airfield, I fly this mainly locally for short hops from the same airfield.
#5 the C-22J really surprised me in how how much I would enjoy it. It’s a really fun sight seeing plane, I love the cockpit in VR, the sounds are superb though, I just keep coming back to it.
When a DHC-2 and DC-3 / Basler BT-67 come out this will change my top 5 for sure.
Definitely not that halo thing ![]()
Thanks for the list Vapour ![]()
Appreciate what you are saying about choice 1 and 2 but could you pop one above the other at all? I can’t allocate 5pts to each unless you want me to drop the C22J instead?
Ok Baracus,
If the 2 were parked in front of me and I was asked which one I would want to take up then it would be the Hawk. That’s the only way I can divide them.
Perfect!!! That is the EXACT spirit of the concept of this thread!!! You win, thanks! ![]()
Thank you for joining in the fun ’n’ games.
As a side note, from memory I think it’s only you and I that have EVER put the Hawk as number 1! Welcome to the club hehehe.
