Perhaps with SU11 beta. I think Asobo changed something here. In SU 10 I butter every landing.
So that would leave the glider simulation to be the best ![]()
If you ignore the lack of realistic thermals ![]()
October (Current) List - unchanged from September List
- DA62X (Modded) - Used most as I am entering the home stretch of a World tour with it.
- Aerosoft CRJ - Has its issues, but fun to fly and hands on.
- Asobo Citation Longitude (Modded) - Cures my business jet itch
- Flysimware Cessna 414AW - Wish I had used this for my World tourā¦favorite twin prop.
- Fenix A320 - For those times when I want to set and forget and relax, yet still feel I accomplished something.
My current favorites:
- Analogue King Air - This is the only plane I have been flying since it was released.
- C414.
- HondaJet.
- Carenado PC12. At least until the SWS PC12 is released.
- PMDG 737 (all versions).
I would put the MilViz C310 on the list but right now it is not compatible with SU11.
Old list:
- Kodiak
- Working Titles CJ4
- PMDG 737 600
- Savage Carbon by Gotgravel
- Discus Premium Glider
New list:
- PC - 12
- Kodiak
- Bonanza G36 with improvement mod by captmatto
- CJ4 with WT improvement mod
- Discus Premium Glider
I had to put the PC-12 back. I missed flying it too much. I will just deal with the bugs. I also discovered the Bonanza with the improvement mod. Brilliant work. The Bonanza flies really nice.
Next i would love to try the Analog King Air. ![]()
Its hard to make a list of 5. The planes falling off the list are still awesome i just didnāt fly them the last while.
There is also a turbo mod for the Bonanza (it results in a separate plane with the normally aspirated version, so you can have both in your hangar). Anyway, the turbo mod is excellent as well.
Itās not on flightsim.to - instead find it below. The latest version is about a year old but it still works great in the latest SUs.
Wow thank you i will try that one for sure.
See the 310 thread for the SU11 issue. A user reported a conflict with the YMF-5 caused the problem.
Just those 3 from your old list are all amazing and I like your point its so difficult to compose a top 5 now
Old list:
New list:
- Black Square Analog King Air 350
- Blackbird Cessna 310
- Blackbird Pilatus PC-6 Porter
- SimWorks Studios Daher Kodiak
- Ants De Haviland Tiger Moth
The King Air is, well, the King. Black Square knocked it out of the park. Iāve been flying this nonstop and itās very versatile with deep systems and fun failures.
My current Top Five are:
- Leonardo M-346 [IndiaFoxtEcho] - actually replaces the Hawk T.1 as my go-to fast jet trainer in MSFS due to its overall build quality, HUD and ground handling.
- Ryan ST-A Special [A1R Design Bureau] - While Iām very tempted with Antās Tiger Moth this fulfils that role for me at the moment. Its such a beautiful aircraft but Iāll probably get the Tiger Moth at some point.
- Supermarine Spitfire L.F Mk IXc [Flying Iron Simulations] - Sounds and looks in abundance.
- Cessna 310R [MilViz] - I so enjoy this aircraft for casual cruising in the skies.
- Grumman F6F-5 Hellcat [Flying Iron Simulations] - Not pretty but a beast and well crafted.
My old list:
- IndiaFoxtEcho M-346
- FlyingIron F6F-5 Hellcat
- FlyingIron Spitfire Mk.IX
- IndiaFoxtEcho MB-339
- Milviz Cessna 310R
The Sunday Runway Show is on schedule this week hehe!

==== THIS WEEKS TOP 10 ====
====== MY SUMMARY ======
What a strong week for the King Air. Could this be a threat to the Chancellor? It went from Position 71 last week to 32 now. I donāt think weāve seen a plane come on so strong since the topic was started. Even the PMDG 737 wasnāt quite this quick to get a lot of top votes (held back by the price I assume). Actually there was one plane that I remember jumped straight into the Top 25 but there were less votes overall back then so itās no comparison really. I think perhaps it was the 310R but that was released back in May, as was the first 737 and Fenix, so only couple of months after we started this and I canāt clearly remember that far back! There was another recent release that started strong but it hasnāt hit the top of the charts and certainly was not as highly talked about as the King Air round here. We need a plane called the Court Jester or the Eunuch to come and rock things up!
Rest of the top end seems quite stable for the last few weeks now in terms of positions but I think King Air may well make another attack next week.
Only one new entry this week:
- Cessna 510 Mustang by Cockspur
Iām pretty surprised at this point that the Hellcat has still had minimal love. I do hope they got enough sales to motivate them to bring more warbirds into our sim!
Glad to see the Cockspur C510 finally get a mention and what seems like a pretty solid endorsement from a real pilot of one on its own thread! It seems quite a similar plane to the King Air in terms of performance envelope even though itās a jet (slow jet vs fast twin turboprop) or am I way off? The videos Iāve seen of it, it seems quite similar speed when coming into approach and landing. I do like the look of it. That or Hondajet, or one of the modded Asobo bizjets better?
Mainly Iāve been flying the C172 by WB-Sim in preparation for my hopeful real flight in the thing from Bodmin that got cancelled twice due to weather in our so called āsummerā holiday. Thanks England. Fingers crossed for this Friday!
But flying everything is so much more involving with my nice new screen ![]()
Thanks for the continued dedication to this project. You are doing a great job!
In no particular order:
1.) Spitfire
2.) Cessna 414AW
3.) F-14 Tomcat
4.) Kodiak 100
5.) Hondajet
Time for an update⦠itās been a few months!

NEW List
This time Iāve taken a look back to the beginning - August 2020 - to compile a list of my five all-time favorite aircraft based on these criteria:
- Quality of the model
- Flight characteristics
- Time spent in the left seat
- Systems functionality
- Fun factor
MilViz/Blackbird Cessna 310R - Iāve spent large amounts of time in the left seat of this one. Flying it now feels very familiar and is always fun. Just an outstanding model in every regard. It is also rather easy to ātake up for a spinā (not literally of course) when Iām in the mood to fly. That makes it my number one āgo toā model on most days. The ability to āownā the aircraft is an added bonus that sets this model apart. A top-drawer effort by the team at MilViz/Blackbird!
PMDG Douglas DC6 - Of all five models, Iāve spent the most time in this one. The learning curve is steep, but with enough time, flying this big aircraft becomes second nature. (I havenāt used the AFE in a long time.) It is in second place only because it takes a larger chunk of time to properly plan a flight, start up, fly the planned route, land, and shut down. Every time I fly her, I think, āI should do this more often.ā Another Five Star effort by a talented developer.
SimWorks Studios Quest Kodiak 100 - This model also gets a fair amount of my spare time when Iām in the mood to fire up the sim. It is so well done, and has been improved further by the recent update. I still believe it is the best turboprop in MSFS. Short fields and steep approaches in this aircraft are loads of fun. And now with an amphibian optionā¦
SimWorks Studios Vans RV-14/14A - This one is a surprise to me. I fly it on a regular basis and it always brings a smile. The handling is incredibly nimble. It is a blast to throw around in VR. The visibility is superb, even though it is a low-wing aircraft. When I only have twenty to thirty minutes, this is the one I fly.
Just Flight Piper Turbo Arrow 3/4 - These models are excellent, and remain my favorite āclassicā piston singles released so far. The flight characteristics in particular simply feel right, and the modeling is wonderful. Perhaps because I learned to fly in that era, the Pipers āfeelā and look good to me. I always have fun flying this classic aircraft up and down the California Coast, looking at the āsix packā following an inbound radial on the VOR. ![]()
A note on the Flysimware Cessna 414 AW Chancellor: I have left this one in the hangar for weeks now. The pace of updates - and the subsequent breakage of things that worked prior to an update, followed by a quick hotfix - is too much. (There was one update cycle I missed entirely!) The updates happen so fast, and sometimes for such (relatively) minor reasons that I have burned out on updating. There is no doubt C414 is a nice model, and deserves its place on this list. Once everything settles down (post SU11?) I may take her up for a cross-country āshake downā cruise.
Cheers!
Hi. Thank you for joining in our little game ![]()
Iāve given each 3pts.
And yeah the Goose and F-35 (especially the āBā) are also great!
Awesome!!! Thanks for that nice update.
This is totally the spirit of the topic IMO. Not āthis weeks/months bestā, but your ultimate hangar from everything you own. Love love love it!!!
Totally agree on all your points. I gotta jump back into those Arrows soon. Itās one of the first things I purchased so just been in the ānew shiniesā mostly recently, but they are great, have a nice raw and direct feeling ā and I respect JFās content the most of all now I think. They always deliver, no bugs, no fuss and drama, not too fast or too slow development, but always tightly designed, solid, reliable and high quality products that donāt NEED updates ![]()
Thanks again 77T ![]()
That is the key, for me. Each of the aircraft ājust worksā as released, with scant few updates. When I get the time to fly I want to fly and not troubleshoot software issues nor install updates. I do that enough at work! lol!
- FSW C414AW
- PMDG 738

- Black Square King Air 350i
