Brief description of the issue:

I started MSFS, after 1 month absence. Before the start-up sequence starts, I get a pop-up “Your game needs an update”, however the update bar shows “Error”; clicking the Resume button leads to shut down of game. MSFSHelps says I should uninstall and re-install the game. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

I ran as admin and it worked. Then I did the Terminate-Repair-Reset routine for Xbox app and Xbox Console app. Then the update did download (in the Xbox app) and now it works again. #Xboxsucks #Microsoftkillsitsown Microsoft Flight Simulator is a PC game, please disconnect that iditiotic game console.

In contrast to previous issues (always with updates that crash), #MicrosoftHelps was not helpful. They advised to unistall en re-install the game. #Microsofthelps now entirely run by (failing) AI?
